Missouri thaught that the only problem with this was that the third part of the Missouri compromise said that slaverey was to be banned in the remaining part of the Louisiana territory that was north of the 36' 30N Parallel. This line cut through the bottom of Missouri and we did not like it, so we made ourselves a slave state.

The South wanted Missouri admitted as a slave and the north wanted Missouri to be a free state. Maine's Statehood was also discussed.
