I completed the self-assessment, and it indicated that I have a strong growth mindset. The answers to the questions that I selected reflected my already existing beliefs in learning which I obtained through both experience and the environment I grew up in - both of my parents were teachers and very supportive.

I received a score of 47 which labeled me as a strong growth mindset. I will say, even though I did get a score of 47 there is still room for me to grow. I can get frustrated when I try new things and I run in to multiple obstacles - especially if there are deadlines etc.
Also, negative feedback can be hard for me when I view it as criticism - or if it is coming from a person that I do not has the full story etc.
I do think I strongly have the belief that everyone can learn and continue to improve themselves.

I received a 43 which labeled me as having a growth mindset with some fixed ideas. This is not terribly surprising to me because of where I am in my life. I am still young and still figuring things out so it makes sense to me that I do not have a growth mindset completely. It just means that I have things to work on and I look forward to learning more through this course.

This doesn't surprise me too much because growth mindset is a huge part of who I am as a teacher. I have always had to work hard to achieve good results, it often came easier for my older brother. This helped me learned that if you put in the work and keep trying you will get there. I believe each and everyone of my students can be successful given the time and tools they need and that they will all get there, their own way and in their own time.

I had an easier time answering the questions on the quiz than I did in the begininng of the class. I feel more confident as a learner and teacher - and I feel like I have a better understanding and identifying exactly what growth mindset means and the actions I need to take as a teacher, wife, mom.
I still have a personal goal of taking criticism/ negative feedback. However, having better understanding of not having to be perfect and that struggling is a good thing which leads to a positive outcome helps me feel more receptive to it.
It has also helped me be more intentional on the type of feedback I gave verbally and written on student assignments. Making sure I am intentional on praising the process vs. the outcome

Much easier to answer the questions and shows a score of 60 which is much higher than when I started the class. I think what will really need to happen is to keep practicing and getting better at this professionally and personally so it becomes an automatic response. My attitude about difficult things have improved and nothing becomes an "end of the world" type problem. I hope I can model and teach this to my own children as well as my students.

I was in the strong growth mindset range at the start of this class. My score went up and I was still in the strong growth mindset category. The major change that I noticed is that now I understand why I am scoring in that range. I have a good grasp of what a growth mindset is, the science behind it, and how to hopefully instill it in students.

Your Mindset Score is 47.

45-60 Your results suggest a strong growth mindset.
I went from having some fixed ideas within my mindset to having a strong growth mindset. The major change for me is not that I now have a strong growth mindset, it is that I truly know what that meant and that I understand that just because I have a growth mindset does not mean I will not have some fixed ideas at times or that I do not have to continue to grow. It just means that I now have the tools to teach with a growth mindset and to foster a growth mindset in my students.
