Definition
Appeal to Authority according to pseudoscience is when you associate an individual with its credibility. Example being if a doctor says a fact and if a person who isn’t a doctor says that fact, you are more likely to believe the doctor since they are more credible.

Connection
In this video the toothpaste commercial is appealing to the actor portraying a dentist to convince the individuals they are appealing to to buy the product they are selling because they added the element of trust and validity for an authority figure. Seeing a dentist makes it more likely for the buyer to trust the product because, why would a dentist lie about what's good for my teeth right?

Definition
Causation is the reason why a situation is occurring. Correlation is when we acknowledge that it's happening but it isn't related to the causation. Sometimes it is hard to not relate the two and find that it is hard to understand that the two are happening simultaneously but not related to one another at all.

Connection
In this video, the speaker explains that causation and correlation isn't related and why we might fall into this confusion. He also suggests that scientific study is sometimes a result of mixing the two together.

Natural doesn't suggest that it's good for us.

Connection
The video shows a few common everyday household food products that we use, however are perhaps toxic for us. It is shocking to learn that these things we eat everyday and deem as being "healthy for us".

This makes sure that the distraction is strong enough to hopefully not bring them back to the avoided topic.

Connection
This video shows that during a debate, the opponent had created a distraction to steer the audience away from the question he was asked and he created a distraction he knew would help the audience forget about the question.
