Professor Sergio Juarez in Radical exemplifies the Postmethod Pedagogy approach, as he places his students at the center of the teaching process and also respects Student Autonomy as he gives students the freedom to learn in the way that best suits their needs and styles. This fosters independence and allows students to choose learning methods and pathways that are meaningful to them.

It also makes use of the Relevance of the content it provides because it ensures that the content it teaches is useful and applicable to students' everyday lives, and will not only prepare them to pass tests, but also to face real challenges. This reinforces the principle of "particularity" in the Postmethod, where learning is adapted to the social and cultural context of the students.

Anna.

There are many points in the film that relate to my essay such as the importance that the teacher gives to his students, the fact of questioning the position where the teacher is the center and the "authority", the sensitivity and empathy that he projects towards his students, and how he makes them participants in their own learning without this having to be an arduous process,

Also the fact of teaching something that adapts to the conditions since not all people have the same context and not all of us are born with the same privileges is one of the most beautiful values for me as a teacher, without a doubt the post method is something that I will apply in my future performance as a teacher.

Anny.

In the film, Professor Sergio used post-method pedagogy in his classes, as he adapted them to the context in which he and his students were. His students also had the opportunity to propose topics that they wanted to learn and that were of interest to them. In addition to this, the teacher, despite the limited accessibility to adequate material, took what was around him and taught his students in a creative way. In addition, the film showed that they always prepared them for the "Enlace" tests, but for this professor it was more important that his students learned in a creative way and on topics of interest to them.

Yhuliana.

From my point of view, the film and the essay agree that in most cases teachers only follow what is established in the curriculum and teach it in a theoretical and boring way, which causes many students to lose interest in studying. I think that, as shown in the film, there is the possibility of changing the way children see school, that is, that they feel motivated and happy to go and that they do not see it as a boring place.

He was involved in their social context, as an example, when he was so determined in providing a computer to his students that he went to the mayor for help but seeing that he did not achieve his purpose he sold his car and bought a laptop. He did not inserted a teaching way in the classroom, he let the students create their learning environment and to improve at their own pace.

He told their students the areas they were good at and the students enjoyed learning that and realizing they were brilliant minds.

He is interested in his students, what they want to learn and their likes, and with this, he notices the abilities or subject of interest for each one. And with this method he achieved that other teachers did not, which was that their students took interest in the class or topic and forgot the environment of gangs and poverty in which they lived, as is the case of Paloma and Nico.

Lorena

In my case, some teachers teach with the traditional method that consists of repeating and repeating the same topic in the same way each year, so they are not interested in what their students like and how they would like to learn, which I think is important because all people don’t learn the same way.

Lorena

In the film, post-method pedagogy can be evidenced as the teacher Sergio uses non-traditional approaches for his classes, taking a flexible and innovative approach promoting the learning of each of his students. He also encouraged each child's creativity with every activity he did, focusing not only on teaching with a rigid method, but engaging the children in their own interests, inspiring them to solve problems and act independently. The film is based on the idea that there is no single perfect method of teaching, but that teachers must adapt and be a tool for students to learn.

Mariana

The film makes use of post-method pedagogy when the teacher uses tools that exist in his environment. He adapts his methods to his students, criticizing the established system and changing it to one more functional to the desires and curiosity of the students. He sought to connect with them, understanding their contexts or realities.

It makes a very realistic comment about standardized tests and teachers' environments, where they only have the objective of measuring without contemplating the real knowledge of the students.

Despite everything that happened with Nicolas, Sergio continued believing in him without stigmatizing or judging him. A teacher guides, not attacks or judges.

Another thing I liked about the character was his hymility. I highlight the phrase “-Do you know the best phrase a teacher can know? -I don't know. -See that he does.” He accepts that he doesn't have all the knowledge, but he has the initiative to learn it in order to help his students. The best way to teach is to learn.

The film “radical” shows us the crude but real panorama of a great percentage of people around the world. By focusing on education, it allows us to evidence the root of many of the problems of today's societies: the hegemony of the traditional method based on the teacher as the center of the teaching-learning process. In which the student must only shut up, listen, obey and repeat, and where the teacher limits his/her duties to distribute knowledge isolated from the contexts of the students. However, we can also see the other side of the coin, a pedagogy that goes beyond the traditional method. A series of strategies that involve a real meaningful learning. Where the student is the center, and the teacher is a mediator between knowledge and the realities of their students. Who has as objective to exploit the potential of their students, to teach them to think and not to memorize, to dream and not to conform, to live and not to exist. And that is precisely what Postmethod Pedagogy is based on, that as teachers we forget the orthodox curriculums, that we think of new ways of teaching and that we put into practice more autonomy than theory in order to accomplish our purpose, to educate.

Paula.

One of the first things that I can link is the inequality that exists from one place to another in regards to access and possibilities of education. Because just as it is shown in the film, in the XXI century, there is no need to travel many kilometers to notice that while in some places there are plenty of resources such as books, technological devices or internet, in others barely there is light. On the other hand, I could also notice how, as it happens with the teachers of the "Jose Urbina Lopez institution", nowadays many teachers continue following the rules and empty and lack of context contents that are stipulated in the curriculum, instead of expanding their horizons, learning from the reality of their students and generating meaningful learnings. Finally, I find so sad to see that there are few people who really do something to make a change, since continuing in the system seems the easiest thing for some people, but as Stewart Mill said, what is bad in a system is that which affects many people for the benefit of a few.

Paula.

First, the need to change the traditional method of learning for one that is adapted to current needs and to the social and economic context of the students. Also to eliminate that image of the strict and perfect teacher, since as we seen in the film, the idea is to gain the trust and respect of the students.

During the film, the concern and support that the teacher Sergio gave to each of his students was noticeable, and that is something that I wrote in my essay, the lack of support from teachers, and the consequences that can have for students, since this poor treatment and indifference, generates anxiety and demotivation in them.

Connecting the movie with my essay there are a lot of things to reflect understanding in first place the role of the teacher in this new generation.

Firstly, changing our methods and adapting to new pedagogical models leaving traditional methods as Sergio's teacher in the movie said the objective is change minds and guide them to new opportunities. Also analyze their problems and their realities and to give more tools to be more autonomous and independent in a world that needs holistic beings.

Then, another point that my essay is connected is looking for critical students and teach though new perspectives. Regarding with this point I mean that as a future teacher is pretty important be a critical teacher and adapt our methods depend on the context because is not the same teaching in an urban than a rural school.

Finally, education in Colombia requires more well prepared teachers than understand the real needs of their students and breaking paradigms to evolve toward a new society with a citizens capable to mark print and change the country's realities.

As a student, one way we can connect with the movie "Radical" is by reflecting on the power of education and how it can change lives. The movie shows that learning isn't just about memorizing facts; it's about discovering your potential and using creativity to solve real-world problems. We can reflect on how sometimes the education system feels limiting or too rigid, but when teachers like Sergio Juárez break away from traditional methods, it opens up new possibilities for students to learn in ways that make sense to them.
We can also think about how the film highlights the importance of empathy in teaching. Sergio doesn't just see his students as kids who need to pass exams, but as individuals with unique talents and struggles. This can make us reflect on how much more we can achieve when someone believes in our potential, and how we can also help others by believing in theirs. It makes us question how we can push past limitations, whether they’re in school or life in general, and create opportunities for growth.

In "Radical", we can observe postmethod pedagogy when the teacher, Sergio Juárez, adapts his teaching to the context of students living in an underprivileged area. Instead of following traditional methods, Sergio teaches more flexibly, encouraging critical thinking and creativity, tailoring his lessons to the students' reality. This reflects the postmethod approach by prioritizing the students' needs and environment over a fixed method.

Additionally, Sergio empowers his students by giving them more autonomy and motivating them to actively participate in their own learning. It’s not just about memorization; he helps the children develop problem-solving skills and explore their own interests, promoting a more participatory and relevant education for them.

During the movie the post method is evidenced through different aspects.

First, the student's autonomy where the student look for his own information through enciclopedias, books or means of the experience. The example most appropriated is when students look for information despite the lack of IT resources.

However, there were a lot of issues that difficulties their learning process but teacher's Sergio provided tools and evoked critical thinking achieving better academic results.

In conclusion, the movie makes us to reflect in the way to change tradicional methods for post methods than enhance the learning process understanding their context and their realities but all above to provoke radical changes in terms of education.

According with my reflective essay. There are various items to connect with the movie understanding the learning as a process of self-knowledge and being adaptative and resilience despite of lack of resources.

Therefore, as well as the movie and the essay try to reflect and to adapt the learning process to multiple realities and contexts. For example in the school of that movie there are economical political and social issues that affect the well learning process in these students.

Moreover, as a future teacher i think that the most important aspect is understand the students and to equipe with abilities and competences for their lives.

Finally, the education should be more dynamic adaptative and inclusive taking into account our students' needs. We need change the education regarding to shape autonomous people and to change the outdated traditional methods for new methods that educate holistic competent students in those knowledge areas.

Radical is a poignant exploration of the transformative power of education, set against the backdrop of a struggling Mexican school. Eugenio Derbez delivers a compelling performance as a unconventional teacher who challenges the status quo and inspires his students to reach for their full potential. The film does an excellent job of highlighting the challenges faced by children in impoverished communities, including lack of resources, violence, and limited opportunities, the movie offers a hopeful message about the power of education to break cycles of poverty and inequality, raises important questions about the role of education in society and the need for innovative teaching methods, while the film focuses on the individual impact of the teacher, it could have delved deeper into the systemic problems that contribute to educational inequality.
