Eye Contact:
In rural areas, people do not look at each other in the eyes, directly. Children who look adults directly in the eyes can be viewed as defiant or disrespectful.

Those of higher status will not do work that is "beneath" them. They believe some of this is pre-ordained. This ties back to their religion and their belief that "God helps those who obey." This concept is ingrained in the concept that God has laid out a path that each individual must follow.
This hierarchical status translates across all areas of life in Mexico. It is found in business as well as the home.

Mexicans value owning their own business over working for a large company.
They do not like conflict.  Calling Out someone for a conflict is considered poor manners.
