Hello! My name is Khushan Budthathoki, and I hail from the beautiful landscapes of Nepal—a country known for its majestic mountains and rich culture. Traveling is my greatest passion; I dream of exploring every corner of the world, immersing myself in diverse cultures, and creating memories that last a lifetime.

I completed my high school education in commerce at Dashan Secondary High School back home in Nepal. It was during those years that I developed a curiosity for understanding how the world of business works. Now, I’ve embarked on a new chapter of my life in Canada, where I am pursuing a business course to turn my dreams into reality.

When I’m not studying or planning my next adventure, you’ll likely find me daydreaming about my future travels or seeking inspiration from the incredible journeys of others. Life is an adventure, and I’m here to embrace it with open arms!

This week, I got to understand something about both verbal and non-verbal communication. I examined some of the following verbal skills: Tone of voice modulation, Clarity in speech, and Listening skills. In non-verbal communication I espoused body language, gesture, postures and even eye contact and facial expression in sending messages.

I used these skills in my working experience as a kitchen helper; I had to make my instructions comprehensible and avoid closed gestures that could influence the team work. I observed that there was improved team work and less confusion whenever I was gazes into their eyes and used positive signals.

Refinement of these skills is crucial for the personal career development and ensuring ability to construct and navigate through relationships in the future business career.

In this week, I’ve been concentrating on key interpersonal skills like empathy, active listening, conflict resolution and adaptation. This is how you build good relationships and work with others well.

Empathy + Active listening + Understanding + Attentiveness = Builds trust. A calm and direct approach to conflicts can help in resolving a problem without causing tension to grow. Additionally, I realized that being able to adjust to different people in the team will only improve the overall team’s dynamics.

I practiced active listening with new staff at work and resolved a disagreement at work naturally. There, these skills are indispensable in the main direction of a successful career growth and accordingly essential for my final career goal of being a successful entrepreneur.

This week I worked on developing my interviewing skills. I learned that when you are building your confidence make sure you have thoroughly prepared by researching the company and practicing common questions.

I also learnt that body language is important and whether that's maintaining good posture and eye contact, you must project confidence. The STAR (Situation, Task, Action, Result) method for structuring responses like this just made sense for me.

For my mock interviews, this was just enough preparation and confidence for when I finally apply to get my next job. This is critical for how I present myself in the work world.

I came across this opening during my capstone project search and believe that after working for years within the restaurant sector and having an interest in food quality, I’d be a great asset to your organization.

Now I work as a kitchen helper, and I have acquired core cooking and collaboration abilities. I have learned how to be efficient under time constraints and produce results effectively in a fast-paced environment. I am sure that these skills will be useful when performing the Cook function at Forno Culture.

My business education has also given me a way to approach tasks tactfully and think more deeply about operations that need to be done. For instance, my work implied the reconfiguration of the Goldstar Shoes company through the examination of the aptitudes of Canadian customers. I think this analytical approach would help me be most useful in your kitchen.

That was particularly greatly said by Forno Culture where I was informed that they combine traditional flavors with some creativity. Andrea’s leadership and the overall concept of a restaurant that appreciates quality and Service innovation is in line with what I want to do.

It was a pleasure for me to submit my application to the company and I want to gratefully express my appreciation for this opportunity. I am excited to talk further about how I can contribute to the work of Forno Culture’s team.

Sincerely

Khushan budhathoki

In this week’s content, I was able to discover features of meetings, the types of meetings that can help determine a team’s workflow. I quickly concluded that for a meeting to be effective, it must have objectives, a schedule, and the full engagement of all members, as I found myself in a student group assignments which require meeting.

Clear Objectives: The former I realized that every meeting should have a specific aim, which can be a discussion, problem solving or an update on particular issues. If you don’t have an agenda in writing and if it is not discussed before the start, it is very difficult to keep people on track during the conversation.

Organized Agenda: This is important as an agenda keeps the meeting on track. I also discovered that when you adhere strictly to an agenda it becomes easy to transact business because all crucial issues are addressed in an orderly manner.

Active Participation: Also it is necessary that all people in the team can communicate and make their contribution in the meeting. I have observe that most of the meeting can be more effective and engaging once the participants are allowed to give their opinions.

Time Management: Managing time well is key. Complex business might take more time when discussed that is why the time should be filled to the brim to avoid a situation in which participants lose track of time.

Follow-Up: It is also important after a meeting to summarise decisions and to put down agenda for actions. This acts as a way of making sure everybody has a clue about what it is they are supposed to do and by when.

Fostering Team Excellence: Scientific Approaches to Leadership and Teamwork

In today’s world of work cooperation is an essential component, which leads to success. However, establishing and developing a proper team is not a random process; it needs good leadership, messaging in addition to the organization’s support. It walks leaders and stakeholders through best practices in managing the teams and it also outlines the common pitfalls that are likely to affect the performance of the teams.

The Role of Leadership in Team Success

It is common sense that good management is the key to success in the work of any team. An efficient supervisor fully defines expectations, guides and encourages the employees in order to maximize their performance. It is not about how much one controls the subordinates or how much she/he fulfills the organizational chart by assigning subtasks.

For example, integrating leadership – where leaders facilitate change and involve their subordinates – has been found to foster high creativity as compared with The nominal leadership – where leaders are mainly preoccupied with tasks and system rewards (Gupta, 2021). Team management skills are also important because leaders are able to understand people they work with emotionally. Being flexible and more friendly makes it easier for the leaders to solve any difficulties or to help the members go round any barriers

Effective steps to develop a collaborative work climate

In building a strong team environment there is need to have goal and roles clarified. If every team member is aware of their roles and roles of other members in tackling challenges, the team will run well. This also includes the leaders to prioritize open communication by encouraging team members to express their ideas, give feedback as well as to share their concerns.

Trust is also a critical factor to build from both directions. There is a positive relationship between trust and the capacity of the team to deal with conflict due to coordination. Even such mundane activities as meeting each other daily, engaging in group exercises, or acknowledging successes, even if they are insignificant, are good foundation to guarantee mutual trust (Johnson, 2022).

Overcoming Team Challenges

Despite all the efforts of team leaders, teams will encounter challenges. Miscommunication is one of the most common causes of problems and even the most structured project can go off deep into the end. To remedy this, communication channels need to be well defined, and for updates to occur on a regular basis. Active listening can also be modeled by leaders and all voices can be heard during discussions (Taylor, 2020).

Spackle ball also encourages another common challenge: coordinating the diversity within a team. Hence, implementing diversity in an organization has its benefits such as diversity enhances creativity and new ideas, but has its drawbacks; it may at time result in differences and even conflicts. To benefit from diversity, leaders should promote a welcoming environment for differences to be valued and team members feel inclined to participate (Johnson, 2022).

Conclusion

However, deliberate effort is required for team leading and working in teams well and it is worth it. Teams that leverage proximity to one another, address challenges ahead of time, and lead with empathy can work miracles together. Leaders need to be trained, and teams must be equipped with the tools to do their job. When teams are at their best, they exceed goals and build a work culture that works for everyone.

References

Gupta, A.
