Evidence of rapid climate change
Decreased snow cover: Over the five decades the amount of spring snow cover in the Northern Hemisphere has decreased and the snow has been melting earlier.
Global temperature Rise: The average for the planets surface temperature has risen about 2.12 degrees Fahrenheit. These past 40 years have been when most of the warming has occurred with 7 most recent years being the warmest. Two of the warmest years are 2016 and 2020.
Warming Ocean: The ocean has absorbed a lot of the heat that has caused the temperature to increase. The Earth does store 90% of the extra energy in the ocean.
Ocean Acidification: The acidity of surface ocean waters has increased by about 30%. Humans have caused this increase by emitting more carbon dioxide into the atmosphere which causes more to be absorbed into the ocean.

In this day and age, the existence of global warming is hard to deny. Many studies, conducted by reputable organizations, prove a correlation between CO2 emissions and raising temperatures around the globe. This is not to say that the solution to this issue is a legitimate subject of debate. Our group has come to the conclusion that global warming is not a hoax; it is important to recognize its existence regardless of what you think should be done about it.

I chose this image because it reveals the devastating effects that global warming has on animals. Wildfires are naturally occurring events and are historically an important part of the ecosystem. However, over the past century the number of these natural disaster has skyrocketed. This influx can vastly be accredited to temperature changes set fourth by global warming.
