         <description><![CDATA[<ul><li><strong>Away in a Manger Game</strong>. Like a beetle drive. From Activity-Mom.com but re-ordered to be printed out on one page with instructions.</li></ul><div>&nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp;Great take home and a chance to retell the story and&nbsp;<br>&nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp;engage with it.</div><ul><li><strong>Candy Cane drop</strong>. String ribbon between 2 chairs - can they drop a candy cane so it lands, hooked over the ribbon?</li><li><strong>Marshmallow Stack.</strong> How many can they stack on top of each other before they fall?&nbsp;</li><li><strong>Santa's Sleigh</strong>. Like Musical Chairs. When the music stops the children get into pairs and one gets on all fours as a sleigh while the other sits on their back as Santa. Any child left is out and the last pair to get in place is out. The last pair wins. <br><em>Music, Prizes</em></li><li><strong>Christmas is Coming</strong>. Like Captain's Coming but with a festive twist. As the leader calls the instruction the children do the action. The last one to complete it, or those who do the wrong action, are out. <br>– Santa (ho ho ho while holding stomach) elf (get down small), north pole (run to screen), star (arms and legs apart), tree (stand tall with arms out low to make you a triangle shape), Rudolph (cover nose)<br><em>Prize</em></li><li><strong>Sheep, Sheep, Shepherd</strong>. Like Duck, duck, goose...<br>One child walks around the circle lightly tapping the others on the head saying sheep or shepherd. When they say shepherd, the child whose head has been tapped chases the first child round the circle. If the “shepherd” catches the first child before getting back to their seat the first child has to go again. If the first child gets back to the “shepherd’s” seat without being caught the “shepherd” goes round the circle.<br><em>No props required</em></li><li><strong>Sheep Round Up</strong>. In a relay, teams run to get the sheep and bring them back. Teams then stick them onto their piece of paper. The team with the biggest flock at the end, wins.<br><em>Sheep, sugar paper, glue<br>Prizes</em></li><li><strong>Christmas Dinner</strong><br>Everyone sits on chairs in a circle except 1 who stands in the middle of the circle. Everyone is given one of 4 Christmas meal items - turkey, mince pie, brussel sprout,&nbsp; pudding. The person in the middle shouts out 1 item and everyone given that item swaps places, while the person in the middle tries to take a seat too. The person without a seat then chooses an item. If anyone says "Christmas dinner", everyone moves.</li></ul><div><em>Chairs</em></div><ul><li><strong>Deck the Halls</strong>. Get the children into teams and have them line up in their teams at the kitchen end of the lounge. In turns, the children run and collect some decoration (tinsel, bauble etc) and bring it back to decorate a leader! The team to decorate their leader first, wins.<br><em>Decorations (in equal piles for each team), leaders, prizes</em></li><li><strong>Pass the Parcel</strong>. Get the children in to 2 circles. Play in both circles. Play music while the children to pass the parcel around the circle, then stop the music randomly. When the music stops, the child holding the parcel opens a layer. The parcel then continues around the circle and the music plays on. When the music stops another layer of wrapping is removed and this is repeated until all the layers are opened and the child with the present wins. <em>In each layer add a part of the Christmas story to be read out as the present is opened. Christmas cd, Parcels, bin bag</em></li><li><strong>Star game</strong>. Like Captain's coming but the instructions are star related.&nbsp;<br>Shooting star - they run<br>Twinkling star - they wiggle fingers<br>North star - run to the north side of the room<br>Morning star - stretch and yawn<br>Giant star - reach up high and stand on tiptoe<br>Dwarf star - crouch on the floor<br>Super star - Superman pose<br>The children adopt the pose as instructions are given. The last child to do so is out</li></ul><div><em>No props required</em></div><ul><li><strong>Orange up and under</strong> - passing the orange down the line&nbsp;</li></ul><div><em>Oranges</em></div><div><br></div><div><br>For youth</div><ul><li><strong>Rudolph Noses. </strong>In teams, all put jam on their noses. They then have to pass a cotton wool ball down the line on their noses. The team who do so first, wins</li></ul><div>&nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; <em>Jam, cotton wool balls, wetwipes</em><strong><br></strong><br></div><ul><li><strong>The Great Gift Give Away</strong></li></ul><div>In teams, stand one behind the other in the middle of the hall. The person a the front runs to get a box from the front of the hall then goes back to their team and passes it over their head to the net person who passes it on under their legs. The parcel is passed over, under, over, under to the end. The last person then runs to take it to the other team's pile and collects another from their pile to pass along the line. Give the teams 4 minutes. The team who have given the most gifts away at the end of the time, wins. <br>"<em>Gifts"</em></div><ul><li><strong>Bauble Run</strong></li></ul><div>In teams, one person gets a ball in hand and sits on a wheelie chair. Their team launch them and they have to drop their bauble into their bucket. They then come and swap with someone else from their team. The team with the most baubles at the end of the time, wins.</div><div><strong><em>Wheelie chairs, buckets, plastic balls, crash helmets?<br></em></strong>Great fun, but please be careful!</div><ul><li><strong>Pass the parcel (2)</strong></li></ul><div>Have the young people sit in rows, one behind the other. The person in front has to roll a 6 before passing the parcel to the person behind and down the line. The person at the back runs to the front and rolls a 6. When all the team has rolled a 6 the first person should be at the front again and the fastest team wins. <br><em>Dice, socks for stockings / presents</em></div><div><br></div>]]></description>
