Meeting Professor Kono with Professor Selinger and Ymir was an eye-opening conversation, and I'm very thankful for Professor Kono's insights on his journey with comparative literature and translation. His kindness and depth in conversation has inspired in me to pursue this field in academia. I also found informative his sharing about what we ultimately learn at Bowdoin (writing, diversified liberal arts skillset) during his visit to Language Table.

Professor Kono was extremely insightful regarding both liberal arts studies here in Maine as well as potential studies abroad, specifically at 上智大学. He eased a lot of my worries attached to the liberal arts and study abroad, and gave me a really good overview of what I can expect from my education.

Meeting and hearing from Professor Kono was such a treat! It was really cool to hear the parallels between his experience in physics at Bowdoin with mine. It was also such a crazy coincidence that we both had Professor Naculich! I loved hearing about his life journey and it was reassuring to hear that the skills we learned at Bowdoin would continue to serve us well after college. Thank you for visiting us Professor Kono!

I'm grateful to have had the opportunity to meet Professor Kono! I particularly enjoyed hearing about his experience studying both religion and physics. I really admire the curiosity that it takes to explore so many different things that pique your interest rather than pigeonholing yourself into one discipline. Places like Bowdoin encourage this curiosity, but it takes courage to make the leap, so it was wonderful to hear from someone who was able to fully embrace the things they were passionate about. I'm really glad that Prof. Kono was able to speak to us and to revisit Bowdoin!
