         <description><![CDATA[<p>Close to the equator, the humid climate changes to a semi-humid resp. semi-arid tropical climate towards the Tropics, which results in different ecozones, from tropical forests over various types of savannah to the tropical semi-deserts and deserts.<br>In the humid tropics, which surround the equator with exception of East Africa and the Andes, tropical rain forests form. The semi-humid tropics, in which the dry and wet seasons shape the <a rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow" href="https://content.meteoblue.com/en/research-education/educational-resources/meteoscool/the-earth/seasons/">seasons</a>, are characterised by savannah, dry forests and monsoon forests, which frame the tropical rain forests. Wetlands of the Pantanal in South America also belong to this zone.          <title>Cold is the presence of low temperature, especially in the atmosphere. In common usage, cold is often a subjective perception. A lower bound to temperature is absolute zero, defined as 0.00 K on the Kelvin scale, an absolute thermodynamic temperature scale. This corresponds to −273.15 °C on the Celsius scale, −459.67 °F on the Fahrenheit scale, and 0.00 °R on the Rankine scale.</title>

         <description><![CDATA[<p>Since temperature relates to the thermal energy held by an object or a sample of matter, which is the kinetic energy of the random motion of the particle constituents of matter, an object will have less thermal energy when it is colder and more when it is hotter. If it were possible to cool a system to absolute zero, all motion of the particles in a sample of matter would cease and they would be at complete rest in the classical sense. The object could be described as having zero thermal energy. Microscopically in the description of quantum mechanics, however, matter still has zero-point energy even at absolute zero, because of the uncertainty principle.</p>]]></description>

Most subtropical climates fall into two basic types: humid subtropical (Köppen climate classification: Cfa/Cwa), where rainfall is often concentrated in the warmest months, for example Southeast China and the Southeastern United States, and dry summer or Mediterranean climate (Köppen climate classification: Csa/Csb), where seasonal rainfall is concentrated in the cooler months, such as the Mediterranean Basin or Southern California.</p><p><br/></p><p>Subtropical climates can also occur at high elevations within the tropics, such as in the southern end of the Mexican Plateau and in Da Lat of the Vietnamese Central Highlands. Annual precipitation is often abundant in tropical climates, and shows a seasonal rhythm but may have seasonal dryness to varying degrees. There are normally only two seasons in tropical climates, a wet (rainy / <a rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow" href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Monsoon">monsoon</a>) season and a dry season. They are defined in <a rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow" href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Latitude">latitude</a> by the <a rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow" href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tropic_of_Cancer">Tropic of Cancer</a> in the <a rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow" href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Northern_Hemisphere">Northern Hemisphere</a> at 23°26′10.2″&nbsp;(or&nbsp;23.43617°) N and the <a rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow" href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tropic_of_Capricorn">Tropic of Capricorn</a> in the <a rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow" href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Southern_Hemisphere">Southern Hemisphere</a> at 23°26′10.2″&nbsp;(or&nbsp;23.43617°) S. The tropics are also referred to as the <strong>tropical zone</strong> and the <a rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow" href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Torrid_zone"><strong>torrid zone</strong></a> (see <a rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow" href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Geographical_zone">geographical zone</a>).</p><p>In terms of climate, the tropics receive sunlight that is more direct than the rest of Earth and are generally hotter and wetter as they aren't affected as much by the <a rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow" href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Season">solar seasons</a>. The word "tropical" sometimes refers to this sort of climate in the zone rather than to the geographical zone itself. The tropical zone includes deserts and snow-capped mountains, which are not tropical in the climatic sense. The tropics are distinguished from the other climatic and biomatic regions of Earth, which are the <a rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow" href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Middle_latitudes">middle latitudes</a> and the <a rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow" href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Polar_regions_of_Earth">polar regions</a> on either side of the equatorial zone.</p><p>The tropics constitute 39.8% of Earth's surface area<a rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow" href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tropics#cite_note-1"><sup>[1]</sup></a> and contain 36% of Earth's <a rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow" href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Landmass">landmass</a>.<a rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow" href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tropics#cite_note-2"><sup>[2]</sup></a> As of 2014, the region was home also to 40% of the world's <a rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow" href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/World_population">population</a>, and this figure was then projected to reach 50% by 2050.
