Her name Noalejo is because Amezcua Martinez says Noalejo founding took place in the mid- sixteenth century by Doña Mencia de Salcedo , maid of the Empress Isabel of Portugal. Since its founding , it became dependent on the abbey of Alcalá la Rea lmientras solved disputes between Granada and Jaen , who fought to have the place , a situation that lasted until the middle of last century , due to the disappearance of the Abbey happened depend on Jaén . The first party of the year is celebrating San Antón party making lumbres honoring animals. Neighbors noalejo often eat the typical pot of San Antón. The second party is celebrating the festivities in honor of the patron saint of Noalejo Our Lady of Bethlehem, the third weekend in August are held, many people come from other villages .
