Definition: Ancient Wisdom is using items or ideas that have been around since ancient times to influence a decision or to prove an occurrence happening now. There is no scientific proof to stand behind these theories, but many believe them to be true because they have been in use for many years.
Connection: The picture below is the ancient astrological signs. These signs have been in circulation for thousands of years. There are many people in today's society that believe astrology to be true because it has been around for so long.
https://i.pinimg.com/736x/19/03/70/190370226338fa60ec0b10634e686861--zodiac-star-signs-zodiac-symbols.jpg

Definition: The Confirmation Bias is only seeing or hearing the information that confirms the underlying belief, and either not paying much attention or not remembering the facts that may disprove it.
Connection: The picture below connects to the red flag because the one police officer still believes that there is more criminal activity during a full moon. On two of his shifts this occurrence was proved false, but since it proved true on one shift he confirms his belief that the full moon affects the crime rate.
https://rudism.com/comics/cectic/145.png

Definition: The definition of a Red Herring is, random pieces of information that have nothing to do with the topic at hand that are used to mislead or distract a person from the real question.
Connection: The connection of the red flag and the object that I chose is, this is a perfect example of someone offering a piece of information that has zero credibility to the conversation at hand in order to distract or change the subject all together. The chick doesn't add any additional information to his cause he simply adds a completely random fact to sidetrack his companion.
https://c1.staticflickr.com/5/4061/4603295958_500d6510d4_b.jpg

Definition: When two events seem to be caused by the other just because of timing or location does not necessarily mean that one actually caused the other. You need to see the other aspects in the world that could help contribute to the cause not just take the obvious conclusion.
Connection: I chose this Dilbert comic because I thought it was a very clear representation of what this red flag describes. When one person is blamed for something becaue he seems to be the likely suspect.
https://cdn.munplanet.com/storage/uploads/52209627db7c13603b000001/image/data/572caf757174f7feaa069cc5/xlarge_post_hoc.gif

Definition: When someone uses large words or a large volume of words in order to distract or confuse from the real question.
Connection: I thought that this object clearly defined the red flag. The use of large words is used in many cases of verbosity because the larger the words the more that some will believe what is being said. These large words are used instead of real facts to help sway people to believe what they are fighting for.
https://img1.etsystatic.com/184/0/8720518/il_570xN.1265089207_hnkd.jpg

Definition: People naturally find patterns or images in random every day things.
Connection: The connection to the object for this reason for belief is that for some people they see just a cut open green pepper, but what else do you see… do you see the face? It is a perfect example of finding an object or pattern inside an everyday object. Is there actually a face? No, but it is just our minds finding "meaningful patterns in the meaningless noise" (Michael Shermer).
https://seanchang112.files.wordpress.com/2013/05/pareidolia-peppers-l.jpg

The search is always ongoing to uncover the truths behind these mysteries.
Connection: the video below is connected to the Unexplained reason for belief in every way.
