My prediction on the Miller and Schulz article would differently be an article that exams the different types literacies and which one works best for people. While I was skimming through the article I saw three different list where there are different types of literacies and how they are used so I believe they are going to do research on college students to see which one they use and how it benefits them the most.

After scanning and skimming, the article seems to be about a new idea of what literacy is and how to teach it. There are references to the Australian Government and the Tasmanian Department of Education, which means it's probably in Australia. I also saw a pie chart that seemed to indicate the different kinds of literacy and where they come from. I saw words like traditional literacy being tied to culture and academic literacy being tied to social.

I believe the main/key point of the article is about the different literacy framework their is to equip students. The frameworks being shown will allow first year college students to write like university scholars. There is going to be many types of literary frameworks the student can refer to institutional, critical, academic and traditional.

I predict that one of the main ideas of this article will be some of the different steps that students now need to make in order to become a successful writer/reader. Some of the information that I saw while writing that has led me to believe this is some bullet points throughout some pages that seem to be explaining some aspects of writing that students will need to understand. Not only that but some of the headings of sections such as "traditional literacies", "academic literacies", and "implementation" further make me believe that this article will be explaining the importance of some writing habits.

As I skim through the text and try to figure out the purpose of the text and who its intended to I see some patterns. I see that like other academic writing we've seen so far, this one is also focusing on the education and the difference in strategies that students have and the ones they will need. In the beginning it talks about schools' diversity and what teachers do the teach those student how to reflect on their environment. We also see that the authors, Andrew Miller and Samantha Schulz, begin to talk about what other grade levels are in charge of teaching students. Its followed by some extensive evidence on the subject. Based on all of this and the end, the article will definitely talk about what students should learn at each grade level, how that will help later in life. It will also talk about how the requirements of University level writing and reading increase as time passes by.

My prediction is that the main/key idea of the article is about a certain type of method scholars have come up with to improve the students abilities in writing and coming up with how to write that, such as which skills or techniques they will need and how to develop them. I saw a model with four different literacies and I also saw a list of writing components.

The reading may be about studies done on college students to see how they perform academically with different study habits. There is a distinct difference in the study habits and performance of college students and high school students. The reading will focus on thinking critically and the way that access to the internet influences the development of students' education. Students are given many opportunities throughout their education and there are different literacies that show how effective and how well students perform.

My prediction on the Muller and Schulz article is that it will dive into the differences between the 20th and 21st-century writing,
what it takes to be a writer each time, and how writing has expanded and changed over time. I think it will talk about multi-literacies, there are sections where it is talking about "multi-literacies" and the vast sources there are to use when writing. For example, when skimming there was a section for "Virtual Backpacks" I am guessing it will talk about how the digital world has affected writing throughout time.

I believe that the main idea of the article is about learning the different literacy methods that are out there and understanding the functions of each in order to conduct a well-structured paper. The article also addresses how there will be other factors that come into play when working on an assignment that involves various steps. Not only that but the article highlights that there are more ways that a person can form better connections with the world and express their beliefs about certain issues through the experiences that they have encountered. In other words, the information that I saw that led me to this prediction was the subheadings that highlighted different literacies that were mentioned all throughout the article. Another thing that led me to this prediction was the phrase that was used in the conclusion which stated "a literate person needs far more than 'the three R's' to meaningfully engage with the world around them."
