- i knew I wanted to write it on a subject relating to horror 

- I started watching different horror films and television shows to decide what I wanted to write about 

- Started creating a mind map of the different subjects of horror that I could go into, Brainstormed with my friends on what subject to write about 

- Was watching a movie on shudder and I got a notification to watch a film called Horror Noire which was about the history of Black horror and I thought it was a great idea 

- Problems i had before writing was - How was I going to write this, worried because I knew I would have to do A LOT of research for this subject 

- I overcame this by thinking about how this was a subject i really want to write about so I might as well do it

- I thought about interviewing a couple of people on the subject of people of colour in history one of them being my Dad, because he grew up watching a lot of these older horror films so he knows a lot about the subject and i wanted to ask him his thoughts and feelings to not seeing himself represented 
 I wanted to look online and see if I could find a professional on the history of black people in horror so I could talk to them and get a real professionals opinion on this subject 

- I started doing more research into Jordan Peele and the symbolism in his movies as well as Nia DaCosta who directed the newest Candyman film

- Feedback i've recieved from different people helped me shape how I have been writing this dissertation in terms of: Gramma, different ways I write things and helping with any mistakes i've made while writing 
All the feedback I recieved was helpful as it helped me improve my dissertation and make it the best it coud be 

- I supported myself while writing because although it was tough and there were times where I wanted to give up and change my idea for my dissertation completely I knew it was something I was passionate about and wanted to write about so I carried on
