Vicki was diagnosed in June 2019, entered a clinical trial and fought with such heart and bravery. She died on Jan 1st, 2020 at 63 years young. I miss her so much. My friends and I are running a marathon in her honor and to raise funds for PanCan - reading these stories broke my heart but lifted my spirits. One day we will find a cure.

I am surviving, I was diagnosed 9/15/19. Fortunately my stage 2 tumor was in the head/neck of my pancreas and I underwent Whipple Surgery 10/3/19. After 7 Folfirinox chemo treatments, my liver was suffering so we stopped chemo. So far, I've had 2 clear scans. I pray to be in the very small group of those whose cancer never returns. And I pray that the 10% five year survival rate grows to 100%. Thank you PanCAN!

We lost my dad in 2015 and not a day has gone by since that we don't think about him and all that he has missed after pancreatic cancer took him before his time. While I miss my dad more than words, I WAGE HOPE for my children and their generation. They need to grow up knowing that if genetics plays any factor they will have options, they will have treatments, they will have a different outcome. I love them with all my heart, their Papa loved them with all his heart, and for the children- we demand better.

Told her to go to her OB GYN. TOLD HER SHE HAD POSSIBLY A DEAD FETUS. After two shots they did a scan and found her cancer. Maybe that six months could of resulted in stage 1 and not 4.

He was diagnosed on my birthday in June and passed away just three months later. He had had a physical the previous January and told everything was fine. This disease sneaks up on its victims without a hint of being there until it’s too late. He was just 60 years old. He missed my college graduation, my wedding, and meeting his grandkids. This has to change. We need to find a cure.

We walk for Leo Mochi. He was one of the lucky ones. His tumor blocked his bile duct and he couldn’t eat, lost 20lbs in a few weeks and turned yellow. He went through a phase 3 clinical trial and then another. He ended up on the “standard of care chemo treatment in year three. He was all set to be a phase 1 drug trial participant at the National Institute of Health when he developed sepsis. He still wouldn’t give up but he had fought for almost three and half years. A lucky one. He was hero. He not only wanted to beat this cancer, he wanted to help others too. That was the kind of man he was. He died 3 days before his 62nd birthday, 2017. We miss him everyday and will continue his fight to find a cure for pancreatic cancer. He and our mother (2012) are together again.

My husband was diagnosed in the summer of 2017 at just 39 years old. He sadly left this world just 15 months later, leaving behind myself, 2 young children and countless family and friends. Our lives will never be the same without him and not a day goes by that we don’t wish he was still here with us. My children and I walk every year to raise awareness for this horrible disease and to wage hope for those still fighting.

Not a day goes by that we don’t miss our mom. She passed away very quickly from pancreatic cancer June 12, 2004. It’s very comforting to see how much progress and research they’ve made both for diagnosing and treatment of pancreatic cancer. My sister and I - together with our spouses - will walk tomorrow in honor of our mom and in honor of our friends and relatives who have been stricken with this horrible cancer. 💜💜💜

My mom was diagnosed with stage 4 pancreatic cancer September 21st, 2017. I’ll never forget the call I received in the morning telling me to “come home” and that my parents had something to tell me. I drove home with knots in my stomach knowing something was very wrong. I had a friend whose dad passed from pancreatic cancer, and while I did not know much about it at the time, I knew it wasn’t good. I was 25 years old. And while there is never a good time to lose a loved one of any kind, I couldn’t process losing her and I wasn’t ready to. There was SO much more of my life I needed her to be here for, and I was forced to come to grips with the reality that that wasn’t going to happen. She fought for 13 months and passed October 22, 2018 at age 55. This photo was taken at our first purple stride a month before she passed. Virtual or not, I vow to stride every year in her honor for as long as God will allow me to.
