I gave a lesson on English and mathematics. In English, the students studied the letter “i” and sight words, and in mathematics they learned about addition, and they also learned about measurements. Activities included hand-to-hand activities.

Feelings:

At the beginning of the lesson, I felt nervous and excited at the same time, but after five minutes had passed, the situation seemed comfortable with the students. I had a feeling of fear that there was not enough time.

Evaluation:

The lesson was successful, and the students achieved most of the lesson objectives and completed the work during the centers’ time. However, some of the students found it difficult to compose sentences for writing, but with leadership and guidance they were able to complete the lesson.

Analysis:

After the evaluation and discussion (MCT), I learned that the activities were fun and appropriate for all levels of students. But I need to be more precise when I write 21st Century Skills in the lesson plan and write more details and specify where each skill can be used by the student, and in addition I need to put a link to the PowerPoint that I was explaining.

Conclusions:

In summary, I learned and discovered the aspect that needs further development and modification to avoid it happening again in future lessons, and that the lesson plan should be simple, clear, and include all content and explanations.

Action plan:

For my next lesson, I will include differentiation activities, and I will make sure that the lesson plan is clear and precise. The note I also took from (MCT) is that the lesson plan must be written in black, and I attach a link to the evaluation sheet. In addition, I reduce the time on the carpet because the student should not sit on the carpet for more than 15 minutes.

This lesson plan was different because it was the last week of training and it was a rainy period and the teaching was online. MCT decided that I would explain this lesson plan to him online in the Teams program.

At the beginning of the explanation, I felt nervous and afraid because it was the first time I was explaining a lesson plan without students and it was online, but I went through a series and felt that the situation was better and better when the teaching was face-to-face.

After evaluation and discussion (MCT), I learned that I had to develop technology activities so that I would be ready if such a situation occurred, and that students benefit more from attending school than if it was online.

Conclusions:

I noticed that it is difficult to explain a lesson plan that I developed because it is in line with my principles in education and my method of studying. Every person may differ in the lesson plan, but what I concluded is that explaining the lesson plan without students is a very boring and uninteresting activity, unlike when students are present.

Action Plan:

In the next lesson, I will include differentiation activities, and I will make sure the lesson plan is clear and precise. The note that I also took from (MCT) is that I should do more technology activities and include a link to the PowerPoint and the evaluation tool. In addition, I reduce time on the mat because a student may not sit on the mat for more than 15 minutes.

Al-Dewan Kindergarten - KG2/4 - English and Science lesson – 19/Feb/ 2024

I gave a lesson in English on the letter i and asked the students to give me some words that begin with the letter i. I had them read sentences on the screen together, and these sentences contained sight words. In the science lesson, I gave them a lesson about the meaning of force and the difference between pulling and pushing. All activities were based on hand-on-activates.

Feelings:

The lesson was comfortable with the students and smooth because the students were interactive and active. This gave me a feeling of comfort while giving them the lesson, and at the same time I was very excited.

Evaluation:

In general, the lesson was excellent and went effectively and successfully. The time control was very precise and good, and the control of the students during carpet time was excellent. But next time, I need to put an introductory video for them about the letter and examples of it and start the lesson first with thought-provoking questions and present them with a problem and they must find the solution. This means, in general, that I need to develop the opening of the lesson.

Analysis:

Regarding reflection, I noticed that students could master the solution to the activity if they were curious and exploring. I applied the strategy of the jar and hidden pictures, and they put the flashlight on the jar to discover the picture. The child loves exploration and loves activities that depend on hand work.

Conclusions:

I concluded that teaching children on the carpet, playing with them in educational ways, and giving them the lesson in a fun way will increase the student’s engagement with the lesson and his interaction with the teacher. From MST, I learned the differences in activities and how I can diversify the activities in the same center. This helps students learn more, and this has had a positive and effective impact on my lesson.

Action Plan:

Next time, I will make a video explaining the letter of the week and evaluate the students at the same time by asking them randomly to measure their level of understanding of the lesson. I must help the students think critically and create a problem for the week and ask the students to think about how they might solve this problem.

I presented a lesson this time specifically in the science and mathematics lesson because it was the beginning of a week after a long vacation and the students needed revisions, and all activities were based on practical training and differentiation activities.

Feelings:

My feelings during this study were tense because I was afraid that the students would not interact with me because they were still on vacation, but after that I felt that the students improved and attracted their attention, which made me feel energetic and enthusiastic.

In general, the lesson was excellent and went effectively and successfully. The time control was precise and very good, and the control of the students during carpet time was excellent. Next time I should put in the tech center.
