This problem caused them to be faced with homelessness and Jackson and Robin were not able to go to school anymore. The young boy's mom had died and they were living in an airport and cafeteria food if they had enough money. I find that this is similar to Crenshaw because they are both trying to survive on a low paycheck and bad food. He rides the bus with all of his friends and wonders why he has no IPod or why he has to get of of the bus on the dirty part of town. His grandma struggles with telling him what is really going on.
