During my spring break, I went to Hawaii for my birthday. My birthday was on Monday and we flew in on Saturday. The first day was a chill day; we were tired from travelling so we ate and watched the sunset. On Sunday, we went to the beach. The ocean was warmer than California. There was a turtle swimming around and there was many people jumping off Black Rock (the picture above along with the hotel I stayed at). Monday was my birthday so we went to a luau. The show was entertaining and the sunset was beautiful. On Tuesday, we went to the pool and made it a pool day. Wednesday, we went whale watching. On the boat it was really windy and cold and occasionally getting sprayed with water, which made it worse. I usually get sea sick but this time, I felt good. At first, we saw no whales but towards the end we saw a whole group. The dock was in a little town so we were walking around and shopped in a few stores then ate. Later in the day, we packed since our flight was the next day. Thursday, we had to wake up early for our flight. The TSA lines weren't bad and we were out of there quickly. We landed around 9 pm and went home. On Friday, I went to the mall and Olive Garden with my friends from ROTC. We had planned to go to Rockin' Jump but when we walked in, there was so many people so we decided to stay shopping in the mall. We went dress shopping for the military ball which is in April. One of my friends got her dress and some heels to go with it. Then we went to the food court and got pretzels and talked there for a bit. It was around 4 so we decided to get Menchies then go home. Over the weekend, I went to my dad's but we didn't do much.

When I consider that every living thing holds its state of perfection for only a brief moment; that this huge stage, the world, presents only sham performances, which the stars secretly influence; when I realise that men grow like plants, encouraged and inhibited by the same weather, show off when flushed with youthful sap, then declining when full-grown, wearing away until their youth has been forgotten; then the consideration of this short, unpredictable life makes me see you as rich in youth in the face of the plans of Time and Decay to change your day of youth to dingy night. And, at war with Time because of my love for you, as he’s taking from you I’m renewing you in my poetry.

Analysis:

The Danger of a Single Story - My Take

A single story is showing people one thing and only one thing. A single story could be good or bad. Most times it's bad. Feeding into a single story doesn't make you a bad person. It just shows you don't exactly know what is the full context or know any other pov's. A single story also correlates to power. To me, power is a big thing. It can affect everyone if power is put in the wrong hands.
