         <description><![CDATA[<p><mark>RCA Project| NYP Project Task| Mapping the future ｜Ethnic groups and culture diversity of Yunnan, China, in 50 years.</mark></p><p><br></p><p><strong><mark>文化多样性-少数民族分布假想</mark></strong></p><p><br></p><ol><li><p>On the left side laid the original map of the Ethnic Groups' Distribution in Yunnan, China. On the right side is my imagination of how it should shape in 50 years——<strong>A blueprint for people's unity and cooperation different from now.</strong><br><br>- Yunnan has the most ethnic minorities （about 25） in China, besides which, Han people are the biggest racial group in China, who are distributed around every province of China.<br><br>- On the surface, the Chinese government has a policy that makes some provinces and prefectures become autonomously led by their main population of races or ethnicities. The government also enacted policies in favor of ethnic minorities, but the results were not good and eventually led to the increase in ethnic inequality and discrimination.<br><br>- The pale yellow part of the left diagram shows the distribution of Han people in Yunnan, which is generally located in the middle and east of this province. Kunming, which is the capital city of Yunnan Province,&nbsp; contains the main population of the Yunnan Han race, or even the whole Chinese people.&nbsp; <br><br>- People from other counties except Kunming have much more diverse ethnicities. At those places, different ethnic groups could unite together without too much trouble. However, people from Kunming, the capital city, have discrimination problems towards them.<br><br>&nbsp;- There is a very low possibility for Kunmingers to move to lower-level cities or prefectures. If they do, they are not welcome by those counties as well. However, in order to earn a living, people from other counties set their final goals to move to Kunming. But their diverse cultures are not allowed here, they are just the cheap workers to devote themselves in Kunming. Meanwhile, their non-standard accents reflect their (relative) subsidiary identities and classes compared to the capital, so they try themselves out to practice Mandarin（Chinese Han standard and official language）to fit in the local culture.<br></p></li><li><p> <strong>The right diagram</strong> combines and mixes multi-types of color bars together tightly and even errodes the border of different colours which brings a garden-like image and symbolizes the elimination of the conflicts and diversities between the capital city and the others because in fact they do really have cultural differences and need to be fixed. Nowadays, almost all of the mainland Chinese use Mandarin, and the dialects in Yunnan are quite various.<br><br>- It is a fact that Han culture in some sense erodes other ethnic groups' languages, features and so on. Not only the minorities in Yunnan, people like Uyghurs living in Xinjiang Province feel the same way.<br><br>- Compared to other provinces of China, Yunnan has unenlightened culture and under-developing economics, which in a great degree limits its whole development.<br><br>- On the contrary, this kind of primitive culture background gives people more pure and kind personality, to which it should be paid more attention for healthy regional relations.</p></li><li><p><strong>Prospect：<mark>Ethnic Integration and Eco-friendly Construction.</mark></strong><br>Hope in the future 50-100 years,  it is not just about Han people getting married with ethnic minorities people, giving birth, but the racial boundary and cultural conflicts could be more and more blurry. </p><p><br></p><p>The racial and regional inequality could be eliminated by people's concerns among each other.</p><p><br></p><p>The constructional policies need to be made within a more careful consideration especially for Eco-circulation. </p><p><br><strong><br>Blog page for more：</strong><a rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow" href="https://v3.pebblepad.co.uk/spa/#/public/mgjxxfbR36yjskqrdhRgf9tx8r">https://v3.pebblepad.co.uk/spa/#/public/mgjxxfbR36yjskqrdhRgf9tx8r</a></p></li></ol><p><br></p><p><br></p>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<p>It was summer and the weather was very extreme, for example, hail and severe air convection, extreme heat, and so on.</p><p><br></p><p>My hometown Kunming is usually called "The Spring City", famous for its weather. The sun always shines, and the heat is neither too hot nor cold. There is almost no bunning heat happening in the usual times.</p><p><br></p><p>But this time, it raises the warning.</p>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>"In 1912 the meteorologist Alfred Wegener described what he called 'continental drift', and idea that culminated fifty years later in the modern theory of plate tectonics." The plate tectonics has influence much <strong><mark>on the ring of fire</mark></strong>.          <title>Decolonising nature from anthropocentrism</title>

         <description><![CDATA[<p>It seems that not so many people perceive this global community conception, and people are not really prepared to protect it, even though they live on the same planet. </p><p><br></p><ul><li><p><strong><mark>Decolonising nature from anthropocentrism</mark></strong></p></li></ul><p><br></p><p>Therefore, it&nbsp; brings many ridiculous facts and fantasies from the politicians and capalists who wish to transfer the natural&nbsp; and spacial phenomena into artificial tools of man's quest for armforce competitions, nation's fame and insterests. And those politicians assumed that this would also sooner or later triggers the space war. (details in blog post)<br><br>Regarding this, back to the political arms race, either the earth and its weather, or human's further destiny, are all becoming the competing products for nation's positions and status.&nbsp; It astonishes me because this type of <strong>"human would conquer nature and be the master of nature"</strong> fantasy. In particular,<strong>"... </strong>to change the tides and raise the levels of the sea, to divert the Gulf Stream and change temperate climates to frigid“,[1] this quote sentence seems selfish and less intellectual of the spokesperson. No need to mention that in geophics, tides could be the sun, moon, and the earth's combined effects in the solar system, and the tides could even have huge effects on the earthquakes happening; [2] <strong>the intention of changing those mentioned is not eco-friendly either. The politician could barely concern any feature that these dangerous developing ideas could not only lead the earth to chaos, but also lead humans to extinction</strong>. Is there any point in sustainable development? Nowhere to fit in.</p><p>Hence, please allow me to predict in 100 years, there would be no doubt that the ring of fire surrounding the Pacific would have more volcanic explosions because of the dangerous intentions based by politicians and capitalists. What's worse, massive waste discharges would cause extreme pollution of the ocean. So in my imaginative creations, the sea colour mainly becomes polluted green. Worse still, the main picture of the sea turns into another face which we have never seen before, the combination of multiple polluted colours mixing into a landscape, and we could only tell the Pacific sea from the satellite map because it has its iconic structure of the delta and coastline like what I captured from the Japan Sea area below.<br><br>Footnote:<br>1. Under&nbsp;the research subtitles, I mentioned that, the some so-called "democratic countries" <strong>draw the&nbsp;"ecologically global plan" plan</strong>, which has an&nbsp;idealised meaning&nbsp;but&nbsp;to transmit pollution to&nbsp;developing countries.</p><p><br></p><p>According to the citation organised&nbsp;by Demos originated from Serres (1990) <sup>[3]</sup> and the quotes I presented in footnotes<sup> [2] </sup>and <sup>[4]</sup>,&nbsp;they revealed that the capitalists not only aim to exploit nature but also disguise the target as "<mark>ecologically global plan</mark>" to advocate for globalisation.</p><p><br></p><p>2. Based on the reading,“Where are the space arks? ”, Stevenson also demonstrated,&nbsp;</p><p><br></p><blockquote><p>"[...] <strong>The vice chairman of the US Joint Chiefs of Staff, John E. Hyten, has described space war as 'inevitable'."</strong> </p></blockquote><p><br></p><p>Meanwhile, these paragraphs of quotes highly drew my attention when I read it:</p><p><br></p><blockquote><p>‘But there is something more important than any ultimate weapon,’ </p></blockquote><p><br></p><p>Johnson told the Senate.</p><p><br></p><blockquote><p> <strong><mark>‘That is the ultimate position – the position of total control over Earth.</mark></strong><mark>’</mark> </p></blockquote><p><br></p><p>As Johnson saw it, it was in space that decisive power over humanity’s future would be won or lost:</p><p><br></p><p>Control of space means the possession of the global, far more certainly, far more totally than any control that has ever or could ever be achieved by weapons, or by troops of occupation...<mark>&nbsp;</mark><strong><mark>From space, the masters of infinity would have the power to control the Earth’s weather, to cause drought and flood, to change the tides and raise the levels of the sea, to divert the Gulf Stream and change temperate climates to frigid.</mark></strong><mark>&nbsp;[7]</mark></p><p><br></p><p>Regarding this, back to&nbsp;the political arms race, either the earth and its weather, or human's further destiny,&nbsp;are all becoming the&nbsp;competing products for nation's positions and status.          <title>The influences of the global climate changes.</title>

         <description><![CDATA[<p><mark>The most obvious effect is the rapid temperature changing in the world.</mark></p><p><br></p><ul><li><p><strong>The hydrological cycle of the sea controls the balance of the ecosystem between the sea and the land.          <description><![CDATA[<p>These fragments of urban planning were taken in 2022，right at the time as I investigated the weather in the global. </p><p><br></p><p>I went out and took the pictures of the city I lived in, Kunming, it was really full of city constructions around the living spaces. Ditches picture at the bottom were just at the place of the residental building's entrance, really a big shock for me.</p><p><br></p><p>Temporary damps were everywhere surrounding the living spaces, seemed no one cared about these things.</p>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<p>These pictures were taken recently in 2024. </p><p><br></p><p>Kunming's main tourist and sightseeing road, Weiyuan Street was built to look like this.</p><p><br></p><p>Tubes are exposed on the road. Waste dirt and floor tiles are being digged everywhere.</p><p><br></p><p>There is no block for pedestrians and the construction, it is a raw way of planning and conducting. Tourists are just right close to all of these.</p>]]></description>

It has one of the world-known geological structures, "The Ring of Fire", marked by its most frequent seismic and volcanic activities on the Earth.</p><p><br/></p><p>The Asia-Pacific region has various continents and seas, illustrating a grand circulation of ecology in topographic changes.</p><p><br/></p><p>As more and more environmental pollutions and destructions caused by human beings, the ocean-land water cycle ecosystem has been gradually damaged.          <description><![CDATA[<ul><li><p><strong>What would climate change bring to us in the near or far future?</strong></p></li></ul><p><br></p><p>According to the research about global warming, it is estimated that <strong>the sea level and the average temperature are keeping on rising.</strong></p><p><strong>The benefits of the ocean-water cycle in balancing the ocean-land ecosystem cycle have gradually been broken down</strong>. If the maintenance of this system was to be damaged, <strong>the climates between the sea and the land could become shaky and unpredictable. </strong>The decline of the sea water and the growth rates of the extreme weather could happen at the same time.</p><p><br>Yet so many people do not seem to accept this global community with a shared future, and are not really prepared to protect it, even though they live on the same planet. </p>]]></description>

Kelp forests absorb CO2 from the surrounding water, thus reducing the acidity that kills marine life. Through photosynthesis, kelp forests increase the oxygen content of seawater and help protect the seashore from erosion by reducing the speed and strength of waves.<br></li></ul><mark>Protecting these habitats is crucial to mitigating climate change!</mark></div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<ul><li><p>The Asia-Pacific has one of the world-known geological structures, <strong><mark>"The Ring of Fire"</mark></strong>, marked by its most frequent seismic and volcanic activities on the Earth.</p><p><br></p><p>It has various continents and seas, illustrating a grand circulation of ecology in topographic changes.</p><p><br></p><p>As more and more environmental pollutions and destructions caused by human beings, the ocean-land water cycle ecosystem has been gradually damaged. The Ring of Fire would no doubt be influenced，which could lead to strange volcanic activities and natural disasters, and extreme climates around the world.</p><p><br></p></li><li><p>To increase the threat of natural disasters, I changed the dark areas to red and deepened the texture of the geographical topographic maps of the sea waves.<br></p></li><li><p>The small blue swirls of light flashing across the sea represent <strong><mark>"The blue tears" or</mark><em><mark> Noctiluca Scientillans</mark></em></strong><em> </em>that work so hard to maintain the ecological balance of the oceans.</p></li></ul>]]></description>

Mandelbrot is the father of fractal geometry​​​​​​​. Meanwhile，he creates fractal geometry which also critiques how mathematics tries to regulate the natural laws without really considering the “formless” of nature.</p><p><br></p><blockquote><p>Mandelbrot (1983) argued that the mathematical revolution was driven by the discovery of mathematical structures that did not conform to the patterns of Euclid and Newton. He stated, "These new structures were regarded as 'pathological,' ... as a 'gallery of monsters,' kin to the cubist painting and atonal music that were upsetting established standards of taste in the arts at about the same time" (p. 38). <strong><mark>According to Mandelbrot, the mathematicians who created these "monsters" considered them important in demonstrating that the world of pure mathematics contains a richness of possibilities far beyond the simple structures observed in Nature. </mark></strong>He further claimed that twentieth-century mathematics flourished with the belief that it had transcended the limitations imposed by its natural origins.<br><br>Moreover,&nbsp; "the fractal geometry of nature" was describe as "Mathematical Art Museum,” “Gallery of Monsters,” and&nbsp; “Museum of Science," respectively. (p.72) It feels grotesque but artistic in science.&nbsp;</p></blockquote></li></ul><p><br></p><ul><li><p>Quotes from<em> The Fractal Geometry of Nature </em>(1983)<em>, </em>by Benoit B. Mandelbrot, which summarises&nbsp;<strong>The natural patterns are “fragmented”, “irregular”, "formless", "amorphous" in the morphology, unpredictable, shaping in process and contain the great level of complexity. Not simply as Euclid could generate them all.</strong></p></li></ul><p><br></p><blockquote><p><em>“Why is geometry often described as ‘cold' and ‘dry’? One reason lies in its inability to describe the shape of a cloud, a mountain, a coastline, or a tree. </em><strong><em>Clouds are not spheres, mountains are not cones, coastlines are not circles, and bark is not smooth, nor does lightning travel in a straight line.</em></strong><em><br><br>More generally, </em><strong><em>I claim that many patterns of Nature are so irregular and fragmented, that, compared with Euclid—a term used in this work to denote all of standard geometry—Nature exhibits not simply a higher degree but an altogether different level of complexity. </em></strong><em>The number of distinct scales of length of natural patterns is for all practical purposes infinite.<br><br>The existence of these patterns challenges us to study those forms that Euclid leaves aside as being “formless,” to investigate the morphology of the “amorphous.” Mathematicians have disdained this challenge, however, and have increasingly chosen to flee from nature by devising theories unrelated to anything we can see or feel.<br>Responding to this challenge, I conceived and developed a new geometry of nature and implemented its use in a number of diverse fields. It describes many of the irregular and fragmented patterns around us, and leads to full-fledged theories, by identifying a family of shapes I call fractals."
