This is by far my biggest time waster. I will text or snap people for a few minutes and often i find myself scrolling through snapchats short form content because there are two tabs dedicated for 2 different types of shortform content and it is very addicting. Shortform content has also been proven to overload dopamine receptors more than some drugs litterally giving you withdrawls and heavily distracting you from what needs to get done.

This is a complete waste of time because it is usually something I would do anyways and I am simply doing it sooner as an excuse to not do the harder thing.

flow-state is a key component to doing work, this is why understanding it is important. The reason that people who enjoy their jobs are much better at them is that it is much easier to get into a flow state of something you enjoy however, you do not have to enjoy a task to reach a flow state. When you are in a flow state, all your unrelated thoughts go out the window and you are fully present. Understanding how flow state works will allow you to reach it much easier, increasing your productivity.

if you already expect to do a specific task at a specific time, it will be easier to reach a flow state. Your brain will be expecting it and since you are fighting it less you will get into the rhythm of the task much easier. This makes self-discipline easier making you a better leader.
