She was part of the deconstructionism current. Her commitment, innovation, and bold persona made her the first woman to win the Pritzker Prize in 2004. Zaha Hadid‘s works and achievements inspired women in the architecture and design fields to pursue their passion. She also received the Mies van der Rohe prize in and the Stirling prize in 2010 and 2011. In 2012 she was appointed by the Queen of England as a Commander of the Order of the British Empire, and in 2015 she became the first woman to receive the RIBA (the British College of Architects) Gold Medal.<br>One of her most famous buildings is the Guangzhou Opera House in China.</div>]]></description>

Besides being a paleontologist, she was an English fossil collector and trader, known for her important finds from the Jurassic period seabeds in the town where she lived, Lyme Regis. Her scientific work contributed to fundamental changes in the way we understand prehistoric life and the history of the Earth in the early nineteenth century. Her outstanding finds are the first ichthyosaur skeleton to be correctly identified, the first two plesiosaur skeletons to be found, the first pterosaur skeleton found and some important fish fossils.</div>]]></description>
