Segregation had been a large problem in the 1950’s
A lot of people were aware of segregation. In the book "The School Segregation Cases" “Even in the quiet back-country, where racial tensions were lower than in the cities, there was always the chance that a teen-age prank by black students would be misinterpreted and would lead to an unpleasant incident of some sort.” (Stevenson, Janet. Pg.2)
This shows people knew that if a black person did something, than the situation would escalate immediately.
Stores were segregated, buses were segregated, and even schools were segregated. At this time, most things were segregated.
At the schools most things that were given to “black schools” were broken things from “white schools”
The "Black Schools" Thought that this was unfair.
They went into the Brown vs Board case.
This was a case in where a man defended 5 other cases about segregation in schools.
This case made the states pass a law saying that you couldn't segregate public schools anymore because any person can attend to them.

(Segregated School.

During segregation a lot of businesses would not hire African Americans. About 60% of African Americans were house maids. Trying to support there family. It was hard because they had to put food on the table while not being able to have much money at all. It was a hard life for African Americans they can barley get good jobs as being part of the nasty beast known a segregation.

Works Cited
Aug 30th 2014

| BIRMINGHAM, ALABAMA AND ATLANTA, GEORGIA

Washington, D.C.: November 9, 1939..Mrs. Paul McNutt, the wife of Federal Security Adminstrator, Paul McNutt, discusses kitchen affairs with one of her two colored servants..
