We did the 100 idea sticky notes where in a certain amount of time we had to write down as many ideas as we could on separate sticky notes. After time was up, we put them all on the whiteboard. We were then told to sort and categorize all of our ideas without speaking.

I called The City Of Zeeland and was given a Gmail address for some people who could help us with our driving question. Abigail was the main one who replied to me, she not only answered questions but gave me/us many ideas with links to help.

Zeeland public schools are a big part of Zeeland and its community so a partnership or sponsorship with them would be a good connection to the community. Ms. Knoth made is clear she would be happy to help!

Driving Question

In order to solve our driving question we have to understand it so we cut it in half. We decided "Community" and "Engagement" were very broad words and we wanted to see the umbrellas of each. We wrote anything and everything we could think of that was connected to the two words. We then circled or started the one that we most agreed with and that began the next steps into the observation stage.

When thinking about our driving question there were two main things to think about: What does it mean and Who is it for. Put simply, stakeholders are "people" or groups that are affected or connected to our driving question and JR Automation. We split into three groups and each group came up with as mean Stakeholders as possible, then we looked at each diagram and talked about it so we could understand the who of our project.

Once we started getting a broad layout of ideas we were beginning to like, we had the opportunity to have a Q&A session with Ms. Kelly and Ms. Stephanie. This allowed us the chance to ensure that our current path of ideas/solutions were on the right track in the eyes of some leaders from JR. This also showed us some of the wants that JR employees wanted or would like.
