(1568–1648). The revolt of the Netherlands against Spanish rule, also known as the Eighty Years' War, is generally said to have initiated in June 1568, when the Spanish executed Counts Egmont and Horne in Brussels. The concerns that led to open revolt, had many earlier causes. The revolt itself is best believed as a series of similar uprisings and wars that, created the Dutch Revolt

The ultimate effect of the revolt was determined mainly by 1609, when the combatants approved the Twelve Years' Truce but the war between the United Provinces of the Netherlands (Dutch Republic) and the Kingdom of Spain did not regularly stop

Philip II's governmental and religious tactics in the Spanish Low Countries (the Netherlands), specifically great taxation and torture of Protestants. The Protestant Reformation had entered in the Netherlands through the Anabaptists and therefore later the Calvinists, and by the 1560s, concerns between Protestants and Catholics were great and raised further by the French Wars of Religion

The Dutch people, who before were Protestants, were seeking independence from Spanish rule and the ability to practice their own religion freely. The desire for religious freedom was a significant driving force behind the Dutch Revolution. The Dutch people fought against the Spanish forces, engaging in both military and political struggles to ensure their independence. The conflict lasted for several decades and involved numerous battles and sieges.

During the Dutch Revolt, the Dutch rebels had to find methods to finance their fight. They raised payment through taxes, both on merchandise and goods. They also had gotten economic help from more nations like England and France

The Siege of Leiden was an important occurrence during the Dutch Revolt. The Spanish troops surrounded the city and tried to starve out the rebels. They rushed the field and created it tough for the Spanish to attack. Eventually, the Spanish had to retreat. This gave the people hope.

The rebels had to use military strength and defend against the government's oppression. They made armies, protected their cities, and fought against the Spanish forces.

During the Dutch Revolt was the Pacification of Ghent in 1576. It was a important time when various provinces in the Netherlands came together to form an agreement against the Spanish rule. The Pacification of Ghent aimed to unify the provinces and build religious freedom, in addition to to discharge Spanish military from the area

In the Dutch Revolt, the moderates were then able to gain control by looking for more peaceful answers and compromise with the Spanish government. They trusted in bargaining instead of complete-on disobedience. Their approach helped produce various conflicts together and was able to make it to the signing of the Pacification of Ghent.
