So that the children learn to recycle, first you have to show them why they are those colors for each material.
We will show that the color grey is for the organic rubish, because when we think in rubbish everybody think in grey. Green is for glass: mostly the glasses are green and this is the way to show that.
Paper goes in the blue, because if we think paper comes from nature and blue is a natural color.
Plastic is a element dangerous, because pollutes our waters and kills fishes, and as tellow is the color of danger, this material goes in the bucket pf this color.

Children love to play and there is nothing better than playing and learning something as important as recycling.
I propose two games that children will love:
The first game will be a recycled bowling game

It's convenient that the children have finished having lunch or snack (because we need an empty bottle and a sandwich wrapper). When the sandwich and water bottle are finished, we will use all the bottles to make a bowling triangle and each one with the wrapper of their sandwich will make a ball.
Ready! We have a recycled game, it is easy to make and a lot of fun. In addition, we will get the children to finish their food. ;)
The second game will be a recycled puppet
We will need: an old sock, glue and recycled material (buttons, soda plates or water bottle caps, newspapers, cardboard, old fabrics or pieces of wool).
We will put our hand inside the sock and with the other hand we will glue the recycled material as we like.
It is a simple resource to make and children will love making their own characters to play.

Children can learn about recycling by making them participate in recycling, placing bags of different colors (blue, yellow, green and gray) and every time they go to throw something, ask them, and what trash is it going to? And if they say it well, reward them with a positive. Another idea that you can do is take them to a park and recycle what they find and throw it in their respective garbage and thus they become aware that this way there will not be so much pollution and the fish and turtles do not drown from the plastic that is thrown into the sea. or is thrown to the ground and ends up in the sea.
An activity that can be done in the classroom is to place 4 containers of blue, yellow, green and gray and with photographs, place the products that you think are there and that help your parents with recycling.

We draw with the children the four types of containers that exist according to the recycled material: paper and cardboard (blue), glass (green), plastic, cans and bricks (yellow) and organic waste (gray). Containers can be cut and pasted somewhere in the class. Around each of them, children can paste the objects that they have previously drawn and cut out and that belong to each container: an old newspaper in the blue, a glass bottle in the green, a milk carton in the yellow or a fish's scrap in the gray, and thus many more objects so that they can differentiate the big majority.

To teach kids how to recycle, I'm going to do a learning activity that we'll repeat throughout the course. We will have a stuffed animal in the shape of a fish like Nemo. With the help of the mascot the class will tell the story:
"People throw rubbish in the sea, but Nemo cannot eat the rubbish because it is bad for him." How can we help him?
Separating the rubbish in to separate containers, we will place a plastic bag for the plastics and a box for the cardboard. They will be easy to use on top of each plastic bag and box, there will be pictures to help you put the proper trash in the right bag and box.
We will give the children encouragment to do this and reward them, when they do it correct.
Whoever is more positive every week will win Nemo as a prize to keep and take home!!
