My dear friend Paul revere and wentworth  chesswell went to alarm  our Massachusetts milita that the British were coming. The militia began mobilizing to intercept them red coats. Our militia men began to fire and overwhelm the British fleet. The British had to flee the area. This battle sparked great confidence among the colonies. My fellow colonists and I are joining the fight for independence. I want to fight for my kids and grand kids. I want them to have independence, from the awful unfair British king. I make sure they have enough food for when I leave. My wife is very sad but she understands its for the good of the family. She has packed me a lot of very tasty snacks and warm blankets so I can stay warm in the winter. My kids are clueless they are not yet old enough to understand the troubles of life. I am very sad to leave them, for they have not gotten to know me. And for me, I don’t want to leave my family or my friends. Me and my fellow soldiers have learned to march and shoot our weapons, but it is obvious the lack of skill and experience we have. Most of us don’t even know what war is like. George Washington is frustrated with what we have. We are also very limited on food. I have lost 5 pounds since Monday and I feel dizzy everyday. It has been hard but most but we understand why it is important to train. The British have the biggest best trained army and navy in the world. We must fight hard. They sent over a thousand war ships. We were out numbered by so much. We did not back down. Soon the fire stated and I watched my fellow soldiers drop like flies. We kept get pushed by large amounts of british soldiers. George Washington made us retreat. We lost so many men. We all lost hope of winning the war but George Washington reminded us of our family’s and to keep fighting. We won the battle with little deaths and an easy victory. I did not have to watch any of my close friends fall in the battle. George Washington is very proud of us. Our confidence of winning the war has went up a lot. We are ready beat those red coats again. We can smell the freedom getting closer. Benjamin Franklin has even got the French to help us win the war. They heard of our victory at saratoga. We have men who no shoes, they leave blood in there tracks. My dear friend John has frostbite and we don’t know if he will survive the winter. We arrive to valley forge where me get  some medical help and somewhere to stay. It is still below freezing and we lose many to disease. Soon we get to training. We get trained by commander Von Steuben. He shows us close combat and how to use bayonets. We feel more confident in winning then ever. I told them every thing that was going on in the war and that I was ok. I told my wife that miss her and how Von stuben is training us during the winter. I asked about my kids and how they were doing in school. Lastly I told them I Will comeback soon. I got a letter back a few weeks later. It was from my family. The said they love me and miss me and want me to comeback. They were also wanted to know my status at our winter camp. They are shooting cannons and muskets at us. We have good cover though. We have to go at the perfect time so we wait for the signal. I am very scared this could be life or death.finally we see the signal. A red flair shoots into the air. We charge the trenches. A few of our soldiers drop but most of us make it. The British don’t stand a chance against our melee training. We fight with pride and force their commander to surrender.
