Pro: definitely focused on moving our sluggish kiddos along.
Pro; writing portion will help them solidify their thinking and make connections with their reading.
Pro: hyper - focus on a strategy for multiple days to really help them get it.
Cons: taking away from other groups that i could work with -------------

Pros-Focus on writing which will definitely support comprehension goals. Students will see connections between reading/writing.

Cons- 4 days with these students may take time away from lower groups.

Pros-
4 days = more time to work on strategies that students NEED
-More individualized
-Writing and planning is catered to student need AND more similar to TDAs
-Students are showing understanding daily through writing thoughts and following strategy
-prompts are not just following strategy- instead following student need.

Pros:
Writing has a HUGE purpose and puts more responsibility on the students. Writing is also catered specifically to student needs, which will push students with their comprehension levels and prepare them for state testing. During Days 1-3, students are responding to reading in quick tidbits to teach them more sustainable reading practices

Cons:
Spending 4 days a week with these students may mean less time with other groups

Students seem to be more independent and aware of their goals.

Lower kids- Is it losing time with them?

Pros:
- Having students sit with you during writing enables prompting to occur.
- more focused goals equals less wasted time.
- students writing notes during their reading helps speed up the planning time of writing.

Cons:
- will not have enough time to give the lower group the extra attention they have been receiving (anxiety about them counting twice).

Deeper prompting leads to deeper comprehension.
Writing really extends students' understanding of the text.

Cons:
Possibly losing time with lower readers (transitional readers).
