One tells us that the Russians were hiding things, and the other tells us to prepare ourselves for any communist "attacks" to the US (politically).

But on the AD speech the Germans and the Italians are being blocked on the other side of the Atlantic by the British and by the Greeks, and by thousands of soldiers and sailors who were able to escape from subjugated countries.

Franklin Roosevelt agreed with this by saying that every country should value their freedom as much as the US valued theirs. They both wanted to defend Democracy. One small difference between how they would do it. Churchill wanted to have others help him. Roosevelt wanted to simply arm themselves more in order to defend democracy themselves.
