The end scene where they all try and stop him from being sucked through the gate is SO cute. It seems like they see him for who he truly is for the first time and they finally understand.

I wonder if the instances we saw of Ian being bullied were the reality or his fear of what might happen if he interacted with the other children.

I think it showed us that inclusion is meeting everyone in the middle.

I also think it showed us that children, although they can be brutally honest which from an adult perspective may sometimes seem cruel, they have a lot more empathy than we give them credit for.
