I think that the current minimum wage is fair for first time workers who are just starting out at a new job. The minimum wage in California is divided into tiers depending on how many employees are working in one place which is understandable. Although it is hard cost of living in California, giving too much money to minimum wage workers with starter jobs will neglect the other things that the governments money is being put towards.

I think its a good decision that they raised the minimum wage in 2014 because inflation especially in California makes the cost of living harder and lowers the value of a dollar bill.

My personal opinion on governor Gavin Newsome passing a law which raises fast food workers wages to 22 dollars an hour could be a very good opportunity for people who are looking for a way to get back up on their feet working and making stable income. The reason why I personally support that decision is because I plan on getting my workers permit and working at the Mcdonald's next to the Walmart which means even with working only part time and being a highschooler I could be making over 1000 dollars a week with consistent hours.
