Darius just found out his Babou has a brain tumor and is dying and he doesn't now how to feel about it because he's only every seen him on a computer. Darius doesn't feel like he fits in because he doesn't speak farsi but also he doesn't feel like he fits in with his dads friends/family because he looks different. Persian new year called Nowruz. a tradition Charaharshanbeh Suri is when you jump over fire, and a mountain of persion food there are no persion celebrations that don't involve enough persion food to feed the entire willamette valley. Darius feels very very different from his dad, his dad has blonde hair blue eyes and Darius had slightly curled dark hair. Darius and his dad suffer with depression. when Darius was at the airport going through security he was "randily selected" because of the color of his skin and the officer said you people do the red dot thing too and he pointed to his forehead. Darius dad is ashamed and embarrassed about Darius weight. in iran there is no toilets its either a bucket or a while in the ground. Darius is very close with his sister but cant admit to the activities they do together publicly because its not "manly" . Darius just found out that he is going to iran because his babou is sick with a brain tumor and is dying.
