I’m going to take away the concept of scaffold complexity! I think it’s really useful to break things up to small pieces and it’s applicable to this amazing training!

One key strategy I’d like to carry forward is providing multiple means of representation making sure information is presented in different formats (visuals, text, and interactive tools) so it is accessible to all types of learners.

One thing that I would like to take away from UDL is the scaffold strategy! I have heard of method like it but I enjoyed the way it was portrayed in the presentation. Starting by breaking down a big problem to manageable pieces then after the student gets more adjusted, slowly removing supports so they can practice independently !

I think one idea that I will be carrying into our journey is the different ways to interact with kids, some who may be more social than others. Some being introverts rather than extroverts

Translating the material being taught into a different form to be presented in so that the learner can access it better

I thought the example of how kids will learn differently (like one using the camera and portfolio and another building) and trying to support them on whichever one they choose was really interesting

I am excited to utilize UDL ideals within Minecraft to help encourage students that there are multiple paths to completing the assignments. There is not one direct path of walking, running, or jumping through the map.

I think it is interesting how UDL stemmed from architecture. The idea that brains are like fingerprints, each one is different is new to me and has changed my perspective on learning.

I plan to encourage multiple ways for children to show their coding skills—drawings of their ideas or explaining their logic out loud—so every learner feels confident expressing what they know.

I love the idea of giving learners more than one way to show what they know. As a learner, I often find that even if I know I understand something, I might struggle to demonstrate that if the assessment doesn’t align with the ways I express myself.
