How I got started with childcare

I first started working with kids during summers at a sleep away camp in North Carolina. I immediately fell in love with childcare and having fun with the campers. I knew after a few weeks that it was what I wanted to do as a career. I chose teaching because it is an outlet to pour unconditional love & respect into students everywhere. I am so excited to get to uplift students and truly teach them things of value while also making them feel cared for and safe.

I love anything to do with nature! Anytime it's sunny, you can count on me being outside. Walks, hikes, swimming, biking, anything really! Feeling connected to the Earth is such an awesome feeling and one I try to feel as much as possible. I love sharing this feeling with the people I love & include quality time in most of my relationships. I enjoy laying out & reading, planning, and writing as well.

The three words (I hope) the people in my life would use to describe me would probably be outspoken, caring, and kind. I believe everyone is deserving of love and belonging and respect and try to treat all the people I interact with with these values in mind. I believe in speaking up for what you believe in, even if it goes against the grain. I believe in caring for people and life passionately. I believe everyone deserves to be treated with kindness. We are all human beings living for the first time. Giving grace is necessary!
