         <title>MMPI Minnesota Multiphasic Personality Inventory </title>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>Used to access personality traits with people that suspected of having a clinical health or mental health issues. <br><br>The pros are that this test has been proven to be valid and reliable. Questions are short and direct. <br><br>The cons of using this test are that the results can skewed if the patient is under distress. The test cannot be administered electronically. This tool is often used in legal cases for criminal defense and for custody cases.<br><br>MMPI was created  in 1940,MMPI-2 was created in 1989 to address questions that were considered racist or sexist.<br><br>The MMPI has 567 questions and can be a challenging survey to administer because  it takes between 60-90 minutes.<br>Scoring has to be don by a trained psychologist/psychiatrist. <br><br>I would feel comfortable using this tool in a setting that was comfortable and with a client that was able to tolerate extending questioning. This wouldn't be an accessible tool in certain situations such as a crisis. </div>]]></description>

Looks at cognitive impairment, school maladjustment, interpersonal competence, risk taking, extroversion and harmful habits. <br> <br>Pros: Numerous studies indicate that Mac-R scores are stable over long term treatment.<br><br>Cons: Internal consistency estimates vary. Persons with antisocial traits sometimes produce false positives while persons with mood disorders who are also substance users may produce false negative. <br><br>I would feel comfortable using it along with further testing. </div>]]></description>

Time to interpret score is brief.<br>Cons: Close-ended questions, not much room for exploration.<br><br>Yes, I would feel comfortable administrating this tool.<br><br>I don't believe that this document would provide too much insight into the severity of a client's addiction.</div>]]></description>

For example the CAGE screening and the depression screening given at my PCP's office. They are easy to to answer in a way that looks like you don't have a problem. </div>]]></description>
