WHAT IS THE STORY ALL ABOUT?

The story is about a special boy named Magnifico, that changes lives of every people he meets. He is also called as "Ikoy" a sweet, gifted, loving and well-intentioned boy, who is often rebuked by his father because of his foolishness. He is the one who built a coffin for his incurably ill grandmother, while raising money to buy a wheelchair for his sister. Unfortunately, Magnifico died because he was trying to cross the street in order to go to Mang Domeng. Magnifico's world is filled with people who desires his special gifts of hope, love, determination and happiness.

THE GOOD AND BAD ASPECT OF MAGNIFICO

For the good aspect, we've seen in the movie "Magnifico" is that they used children to showcase different reasons and effects that can help a specific person or an elderly to change their perspective in life. It emphasizes a specific act of being optimistic even for struggling and suffering in life. Magnifico himself, continuously touching the hearts of people he meets, brings happiness to people who have made people love him more. It teaches us that we should not forget to smile, believe in God and make things happen even in the darkest and most difficult times of our life.
There's not much of a bad thing we saw in the movie. Yet there was something that strucked our attention. You can see in the movie that there are people specifically the ladies that are talking at each other's back or what we call "nagchichismisan". Also, in the part where his brother's friend teases her sister (Helen) relentlessly because of her disability.

FINAL THOUGHTS?

For us, overall, considering that it was made many years ago, it was a great movie. Magnifico tells a lot of stories and teaches various lessons to a lot of people that made it an excellent film. Literally, just by watching this film, it could make someone cry. This movie is just awesome! It will help people appreciate the importance of life more and how we can take care and make the most out of it. It is worth the watch! We hope that this film will inspire many individuals, particularly students or children. We also hope that this kind of film still exists in our Philippine cinemas for today's generation. The plot of Magnifico runs in different kinds of problems, unlike other international films, that the main character wants to solve and also the main character of the film is a child who died in the end of the film that we don't see much in other international films. Even if the standard is not so good, the story is different. Magnifico outweighs other films.

Since this movie offers a complete package, it deserves the perfect rating! The film offers a happy, sad, and heartbreaking kind of story. It has the principle of encouraging an audience to think about what's going to happen next. It also has the sense of suspense that can make people who are watching at the same time emotional and happy. The director's interpretation of how to continue the flow of the story is very heartwarming.
