I hope to gain knowledge on how to thoroughly and appropriately assess and treat bilingual individuals. It is essential to understand the fundamentals of SLP for all individuals and the key factors to consider.

I hope to also learn how to advocate for families as well as my profession.

What I hope to gain or learn from this class is how to best support bilingual individuals who are from a variety of cultural backgrounds and who might not even speak the same language as myself. Being culturally competent is important for me and I hope this class helps me to build up that foundation.
