         <description><![CDATA[<div>1915-Australian suggested building an amour plated, bullet -proved vehicle but he was ignored.<br>1915, the first tank model was built! The name for it is "Little Willie", and from this, the Mark 1 tank was developed.&nbsp;<br>Lord Kitchener, the the minister of war, was not impressed with it and said that it would never win the war. However, Sir Douglas Haig thought it was worth trying.<br>In 1916, 49 tanks were used. Unfortunately, they were slow, weak and kept breaking down.<br>In 1917, the first successful tank was built. It is named "Whippet tank", the first time tanks were used in masse.&nbsp;<br>In 1918, British and Americans created a new tank model together called "Mark VIII or Liberty". It weighed 37 tonnes, carried a group of 8 men and could fire 208 shells and 13,000 bullets.<br>The main difference between this tank and the earlier tanks was that the engine was separated from the crew's compartment.</div>]]></description>

These powerful weapons were designed by a British army journalist named Lt-Colonel Ernest Swinton. </div><div>·      Designed an armed vehicle which could cross difficult grounds. </div><div>·      At the battle of Cambria more than 400 Tanks smashed their way through the German trenches. In addition, at the end of three days they had driven 8km behind the German lines. </div>]]></description>
