Bekannte und wichtige Künstler dieser Epoche waren beispielsweise Claude Monet (Kunstwerke: Die japanische Brücke usw.) und Vincent Van Gogh (Kunstwerke: Sternennacht, Selbstbild, Fühnfzehn Sonnenblumen in einer Vase usw.)

Ebenfalls waren die Kunstwerke von Künstlern eher abstrakter gehalten, da der Realismus von der Fotografie abgedeckt wurde.

Das liegt daran, das zuerst genanntes Kunstwerk eher anfangs entstand und das danach genannte Bild am ende der Epoche. So kann man die künstlerische Entwicklung der Moderne, die immer abstrakter, aber dafür farbintensiver war, besser nachvollziehen.
