The thing Borden does not know that Badry is a spotted owl any other kind of owl. Leon or Dad was mad until he noticed that if he keeps Bardy it can get him out of paying the fine. The female owlet was eaten and died that was sad. But in chapter 7, It kind of changes again to Borden and Leon. So in chapter 4-6,   Enrique couldn't find food. Then in the next chapter one of the other owlets died from a poisonous plant and his parents were killed by a pine marten. In chapter 6 Leon thought he could get his job back by saving him. Also because isn't a spotted owl. He's a Barred owl. So this owl can't be blamed for Leon becoming unemployed. The spotted owls caused that to happen. Then Borden named him Bardy. Then finally in chapter 7, Enrique didn't want to eat. The reason why he didn't want to eat was because the mother owl usually bit their food into small pieces. But Leon obviously didn't want to do that. So he cut the mice into smaller pieces and Enrique started eating. He also ate ten whole mice and that surprised Leon very much. In chapter five Borden sees the boy owlet all alone because the other owlet died so he took the owlet home and names him Bardy. Borden took Bardy home.
In chapter 6 Borden brings Bardy home and Mr .Watson at first does not like it and wants to shoot it because he does not like owls.The good thing is that Borden gets to keep Bardy.
