Yes: tears came out of my two visible eyes, my moist weeping human eyes. But I had a third eye, in the middle of my forehead. I could feel it: it was cold, like a stone. It did not weep: it saw.

a)Masculine vs feminine: "I am standing straight, shoulders back, my lips curved into a firm but benevolet smile. My eyes are fixed on some cosmic point of reference understood to represent my idealism, my unflinching commitment to duty, my determination to move forward despite all obstacles" (chapter 1 page 1). This because she is using her ideal to say that she is not less than other just because she is a woman
B)Freedom vs Deprivation: "I agree with you that Gilead ought to fade away-there is too much wrong in it, too much that is false, and too much that is surely contrary to what God intended- but you must permited me some space to mourn the good that will be lost" (Chapter 2 page 9). This quoute was selected because the freedom is presented in the wish of the protagonist of been in her own space and the deprivation in the situation of Gilead.
C)Life vs. Death: "We and your fathers and mothers will choose your husbands wisely for you when the time comes" (Chapter 2 page 10). This because the action of getting married with some one that you don´t want, it will affect the protagonist in all her life until she or her husband dies.
D) Hegemony vs. Subordination: "The pink , the white and the plum dresses were the rule for special girls like us. Ordinary girls from Econofamilies wore the same thing all the time".(Chapter 2 page 11)

FREEDOM VS DEPRIVATION
Chapter 3. Page 16.
"There were swings in one of the parks, but because of our skirts, which might be blown up by the wind and then looked into, we were not to think of taking such liberty as a swing. Only boys could taste that freedom; only they could swoop and soar, only they could be airborne".
Explanation: Freedom is presented as a quality and opportunity reserved for the male gender. It has been taken away from women, and they have to learn to live without it.

MASCULINE VS FEMININE
Chapter 3. Page 15.
"What my father was doing in there was said to be very important - the important things that men did, too important for females to meddle with because they had smaller brains that were incapable of thinking large thoughts, according to Aunt Vidala, who taught us Religion".
Explanation: One of the conflicts that rely between the genders is the notion that males have a higher intelligence and rationality than females, which is presented in the novel not as a controversy but a fact that is taught in schools.

Chapter 4. Page 20.
"I always made dough men, I never made dough women, because after they were baked I would eat them, and that made me feel I had a secret power over men".
Explanation: As women in the novel have been taken away from any kind of independence and intellectual work, this character exerts her rebellion and protests using this secret habit of eating "bread men", to feel that small actions can help her regain her power.

HEGEMONY VS SUBORDINATION
Chapter 6. Page 35.
"All that festers is not gold, but it can be profitable in non-monetary ways: knowledge is power, especially discreditable knowledge. I am not the first person to have recognized this, or to have capitalized on it when possible: every intelligence agency in the world has always known it".
Explanation: The power of knowledge is considered "hegemonic", because it can affect entire nations positively or negatively. In the case of Gilead citizens, they have to leave in a subordinate state, as they do not have the knowledge to overthrow the regime.

LIFE VS DEATH
Chapter 4. Page 20.
"I was pleased with this story. It was only later that I pondered it: how could Job have allowed God to fob off a batch of new children on him and expect him to pretend that the dead ones no longer mattered?"
Explanation: In this quote the character attempts to criticize religious thought, and thereby the regime's political foundations. She does so by weighing the impact of life and death on humans, and determining that Divine intervention cannot justify slaughter.

a) Freedom vs Deprivation
" Arms covered, hair covered, skirts down to the knee before you were five and no more than two inches above the ankle after that, because the urges of men were terrible things and those urges needed to be curbed. The man eyes that were always roaming here and there like the eyes of tigers, those searchlight eyes, needed to be shielded from the alluring and indeed blinding power of us " (chapter 2, page 14)
This quote demonstrates how women had to keep themselves from wearing the clothes at the length they want to keep away from being sexualized by men.
b) Masculine vs Femenine
" What my father was doing in there was said to be very important—the important things that men did, too important for females to meddle with because they had smaller brains that were incapable of thinking large thoughts, according to Aunt Vidala, who taught us Religion." (chapter 3, page 19)
This quote shows how as this society is led by men in every way even in religion, their own believes of superiority over women because of their "small brains" is a reality taught to little girls in religion class.
c)Hegemony vs Subordination
" The corrupt and blood-smeared fingerprints of the past must be wiped away to create a clean space for the morally pure generation that is surely about to arrive. Such is the theory. " (chapter 1, page 11)
Those who hold a high status in society want to leave no trace of the past for future generations, this shows how does to come will be subordinates of the history those who lead want to tell, not the reality.
d) Life vs death
"Also, it was not encouraging to pray about dying in your sleep. I did not think I would, but what if I did? And what was my soul like—that thing the angels would carry away? Tabitha said it was the spirit part and did not die when your body did, which was supposed to be a cheerful idea."
When you sleep you are living no matter what happens while doing so inside your mind, praying about dying will not cause you to actually die. We see how it is inferred that we don't die completely, our spirit will keep being alive when our soul dies.

a) Freedom vs. Deprivation: “Aunt Vidala said that best friends led to whispering and plotting and keeping secrets, and plotting and secrets led to disobedience to God, and disobedience led to rebellion, and girls who were rebellious became women who were rebellious, and a rebellious woman was even worse than a rebellious man because rebellious men became traitors, but rebellious women became adulteresses.”

(Chapter 5 , Page 24)
Agnes' account of her Vidala School lectures give a complete picture of how Aunts educated wealthy children into proper behavior. The Aunts despise even the most natural and basic things, such as a small girl having a closest friend, since they believe it leads to capital crimes. This shows that not only the Handmaids think that even little deviations from prescribed behavior would result in punishment and disaster. It's also worth noting that adultery is the greatest potential crime of rebellion assigned to women, far worse than treason.
b) Masculine vs. Femine:
I’ve become swollen with power, true, but also nebulous with it—formless, shape-shifting. I am everywhere and nowhere: even in the minds of the Commanders I cast an unsettling shadow. How can I regain myself? How to shrink back to my normal size, the size of an ordinary woman?(Page36)
Aunt Lydia muses on her complicated relationship with authority in this quotation. She fully understands that she has grown "swollen with power," giving her an intoxicating sense of invincibility. Aunt Lydia, despite her legendary prominence in Gilead, is unable to use her influence openly. In contrast to Gilead's elite males, who have complete control over social and political concerns.

Atwood’s choice to make Aunt Lydia the one of the protagonist is because we need to understand that in The Handmaid’s Tale, the character seemed fully aligned with Gilead’s oppressive policies against women. On the other hand, in The Testaments it offers a contrasting view of how Aunt Lydia enjoyed a successful career as a judge and has less to do with a change in her character and more to do with a change in the reader’s perception of her. Her rise to power is record in a manuscript known as The Ardua Hall Holograph "Over the years I’ve buried a lot of bones; now I’m inclined to dig them up again—if only for your edification, my unknown reader. If you are reading, this manuscript at least will have survived. " (Chapter 1,page 11)

Lydia also suspects that people in this chapter know her history already thus she talks about herself as a legend. We see lydia celebrating easter, allowing Auts to dye the eggs they'll eat for supper. She holds a bunch of informatioin as she has a trove of dangerous information on people through Gilead. She quotes "Knowledge is power" in a catholic text. She would keep a manuscript that if discovered could cause her execusion. Her writing attempts to justify her life and what she's done.

Aunt Lydia was originally introduced in her earlier novel, The Handmaid’s Tale, in which the character seemed fully aligned with Gilead’s oppressive policies against women. The Testaments offer a contrasting view. After the transition of power, she became one of four elite women charged by Commander Judd with founding the Aunts, an autonomous order that was to preside over the laws and regulations governing Gilead’s women.

I am everywhere and nowhere: even in the minds of the Commanders I cast an unsettling shadow. How can I regain myself? How to shrink back to my normal size, the size of an ordinary woman?”

This quote captures how Aunt Lydia feels about her femininity and how society perceives her. She states that she shows herself as a power figure even to other commanders and because of this they respect her. However, she has lost her feminine side or, as she puts it, "size of an ordinary woman." We can also appreciate what she thinks about women. By saying "a normal size of a Woman" we can infer that she thinks that normal women are seen as something more fragile and with a submissive position in society and in this case aunt Lydia is the opposite.
