During our initial research, it was imperative for us to find out what gamers wanted, therefore we made a survey, asking specific questions about design choice, to shape and craft the perfect product. The results influenced where we took the project, design wise, the concept focus was clear from the start, video games and violence, the question as how we would portray it and the survey’s helped answer this. As we wanted to capture the viewers attention we gave them what they wanted, which is the best way to maintain an audience.

Using this vital feedback we were able to see a fundamental flaw in our website design during planning, navigation. As we were receiving reviews from media students, we had to take into consideration how technologically illiterate would navigate our website. Therefore, what we chose to do was make the page layout system easier to find, having clear buttons to specific pages, instead of a tabs button with no labelling. A presentation of our website to a media class allowed us to receive very valuable construct criticism, which we used to make a more rounded website. We then decided to place synopses on the front pages and use a hyperlink system, by which the summaries and titles would link to the full articles or pages. During the planning efficiency of the system came before aesthetics, however once we nailed the design we received positive feedback from the animations we had created in after effects. Sticking with the retro theme we exported everything in 1080p, finalising our website.

During the first take for filming our phycology interview, our interviewee pointed out that the statistics were arguing for the opposite side of our forged argument. As this was highlighted, while we were going to the interview, it allowed us to reschedule and remaster the script and go back to the drawing board for research. This was a fundamental flaw in our structure, yet we were able to fix it quickly, leading to a perfect interview, which can be seen in the final product. This was an example of poor planning, yet due to our persistence we could persevere over challenges like this. After the production of our news package, we used inferences picked up by teachers, to refine and fill in any gaps in our report. We found that we were cutting some unnecessary footage, streamlining the news package so it wasn’t tedious, through the use of fading and transitions we were able to hide any obvious cuts. While presenting the report to people we found that the audio was often unbalanced, using the volume changer where music and voices were either loud or quiet. To fix this we stabilised the audio by using audacity and adjusting audio levels, to create a complimentary blend between music and voices.
