I hope to be able to communicate properly and learn good ways to communicate with the children and gain good confidence with communicating with adults in the setting. I hope to be able to apply previous knowledge learned from my past few years in my course into the setting and to be able to do it well. I hope to use my initiative in most cases but I will learn to also try and gain more information as to why I will be carrying out certain tasks. Overall, I hope I will leave a lasting effect on the setting and people in it and that they feel I completed my work to the best of my ability.

I feel like this is what’s making me nervous, as I am over thinking of all the things that could go wrong opposed to what will go right. I feel the modules completed in the last few weeks having given us great insight into how we are to present ourselves and how  this may be classed as a “job interview” taking place over ten weeks. This is very true and I hope I will do well.

I am nervous as I am now thinking I may not fit in and what if I don’t, it will be a long ten weeks. I have prepared my clothes for the morning and I will leave in plenty of time. Going into this placement I am also nervous about the fact it is the Autism Unit and I feel I may not be able to do much if I am just a student and it will be a very boring placement if I am just to observe for ten full weeks.
