The difference between a physical change and a chemical change is that a chemical change makes it to where the substance physical properties and identity is no longer existing, making a new substance (like burning paper, it's physical properties and identity is now gone). A physical change is different because the physical properties do change but the identity remains the same (boiling water is a example because now the water is hot but it still is water).
