Freak so far seems to be very demanding and powerful, and this scares Maxwell a little bit. Although back when they were younger, Maxwell really seemed to look up to him because he thought his 'robot legs' were so cool. Freak was still a bit full of himself even back then, so I think the author is trying to illustrate him as a mean and obnoxious character. Mrs. Mueller talked about being politically correct, and I think Maxwell is the exact opposite of that! I am very interested to fine out what the father did to make his wife's parents so mad at him. I think the cover of the book is clever in the way the illustrator draws the cans and broken baseballs because I assume that Max's neighborhood is not the greatest, or the "hood" as Connor says. I am also interested to find out why Freak is so petite. The author describes him as a boy with a normal sized head but his body is extremely tiny and his bones are weird so his chest sticks out. I feel like something is going to happen with Grim, and then something bad happens with someone Freak knows, so they team up and help each other.

Maybe someone might try to pick on Freak, and then Max stands up to the person who does. This is a really good book because it has so many possible things that can happen. The voice is so strong that I can tell many of Max's character traits almost immediately. I predict that Max is going to become friends with Kevin because if they become friends they also might become freak the mighty. I also infer that together they might learn better behavior and help each other become good people. I think it is sad that Maxwell has accepted that he is a jerk.  I think he should try to change that and give himself a better reputation.

I want to know what happened to Maxwell's family. I want to know this because apparently the dad was known to be violent and the mom apparently passed away. I wonder if the dad killed the mom at night because Max overhears them talking about watching their backs at night because they think he is going to try to kill them.
