Why do we use this type of rubric?

It should be noted that as a team we have chosen to use this analytical rubric because we believe that it helps us to provide a more accurate, detailed and fair evaluation, which undoubtedly facilitates both teaching and learning of students, at the same time it is noteworthy that this also works as a support system, since students will have an easier time to better understand in which areas they excel and in which they need to improve.

It is known that this type of rubric has its advantages and is that it allows us to better align the evaluation with the objectives set to ensure the greatest possible learning in each student. Each criterion of the rubric corresponds to an objective to be achieved, which ensures that all relevant aspects of learning are considered important during the evaluation.

So, by making this choice, the rubric will help us to break down the assessment and rank performance against the objective in an easier and more practical way, while remaining as accurate and analytical as it is, considering the specific criteria for each item to be assessed separately, as is characteristic.

Finally, by adding up the ratings obtained for each criterion, a total score is generated that more accurately reflects the student's overall performance. Students can see in advance how they will be assessed, allowing them to adjust their work to meet the established criteria.
