         <description><![CDATA[<ul><li>In Austria and Germany, for new years, the people drink red wine punch with cinnamon spices and eat suckling pig for dinner. They also decorate the table with pigs made of marzipan. They are known as good luck pigs</li><li>In Poland and Scandinavia, for new years, the people eat pickled herrings. They soak whole salt herrings in water for 24 hours then layer them in a jar with onions, allspice, sugar, and white vinegar. </li><li>In Spain, for new years, the people watch the new years ball broadcast and wait till 12.
