         <description><![CDATA[<ul><li>Many songs were geared towards to support the US and its actions towards communism</li><li>Songs held the USSR completely responsible for the Cold War and they were portrayed as ungrateful for American support before the Cold War</li><li>Roy Acuff sang the song Advice to Joe in 1951 which warns Stalin about US superiority and how he will have no place to hide once the US drops atomic bombs on them</li><li>“There’s a Communist ambition now to rule or wreck us all with atomic ammunition they would like to see us fall”</li><li>Concepts of God, faith, heaven, and hell were incorporated into all of these songs</li></ul><div><br></div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<ul><li>Germans played a huge role to determine the music of the USSR bc they were influenced by classical music </li><li>Bach and Shostakovich ruled and formed ideologies</li><li>Dance music was rejected bc the Germans rejected it and saw it as inferior to their music even though it originally developed in Germany</li><li>Musicians had severe restrictions put on their music and they were not able to fully explore their talents</li><li>Shostakovich was inspired by Jewish themes and he became heavily censored bc of Stalin’s anti-semitic movements and he was not allowed to perform some of his work and many of his works were banned</li><li>Soviet political leadership insisted that music should glorify the achievements of socialism and provide inspiration for the future, but it also silence political,ethnic, and artistic expression</li></ul><div><br></div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>movies as another way to create the Communist enemy.<br>American films incorporated a wide scale of Cold War themes and issues into all genres of film, which gave American motion pictures a particular lead over Soviet film<br><br> The films released during this time received a response from the Soviet Union, which led to them releasing its own array of films to combat the depiction of the Communist threat<br><br>The Americans took advantage of their pre-existing film industry by incorporating propaganda against the Soviets. Between 1948-1953 most films during this time were anti-communist by using different genres of the Cold War.  <br><br>The U.S. Catholic Legion of Decency and the Production Code Administration were used as the main producers of movies in the early stages of the Cold War. This groups filtered out politically questionable movies.<br><br>Hollywood began using spy films to create the Soviets as the enemy of films. Spy films were effectively a "weapon of confrontation between the two world systems.</div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>The Central United Film Studios and the Committee on Cinema Affairs were committed to the Cold War battle. Under Stalin's rule, movies could only be made within strict confines<br><br>Between 1946 and 1950, 45.6% of on-screen villains in Soviet films were either American or British. To elevate the status of cinema, such as changing the Committee of Cinema Affairs to the Ministry of Cinematography, cinema did not seem to work as invigorating propaganda as was planned.<br><br>opened up by de-Stalinization and real Soviet achievements in the space race, typified by Ivan Efremov's galactic epic, <em>Andromeda</em> (1957). Official Communist science fiction transposed the laws of historical materialism to the future, scorning Western nihilistic writings and predicting a peaceful transition to universal communism.</div><div><br><br></div>]]></description>
