It surprising that Farmed shrimp is the most valuable food commodity in the world. Aquaculture is the fastest growing food producing sector. More than half of the world’s shrimp now comes from a farm.
4. That I produce little footprint bc I dont eat meat and use diff was to save water or using energy.
5. I can be vegan and save water i use for my body ( so not a lot of showers)

1. Bati's Ecological Footprint is very different then mine. Bati wears wore out clothes that were passed down from his two older brothers because that is all they can afford. Bati also only eats meat rarely and his diet consists mostly of peas and corn which dramatically decreases his footprint.
2. I am willing to make changes in my lifestyle to reduce my ecological footprint. Seeing how Bati lives has tought us that everything we have today is not needed and we can all do more to reduce our footprints. To reduce my foot print I can eat less meat, and decrease the amount of water I use on an everyday basis.
3. In the United States we waste enough food each year to fill ninety one Empire State buildings. In American the portion sizes are much larger than any place around the world. Due to the larger portion sizes people are not eating all the food they are given and it ends up in the trash. This is horrible considering several countries around the world are struggling to feed there families any amount of food and in America we are just throwing it away.
4. Eating meat daily and traveling a lot dramatically increase my footprint. It surprised me that any amount of meat or animal product you eat can increase you footprint by a lot.
5. I can reduce my footprint realistically by taking shorter showers, turning off the water when it is not being used, unplugging devices when they are not being used, travel and drive less, and try to eat less meat and more vegetables and fruits.

1.My footprint is bigger than Bati's. He lives off the land and is unable to eat much meat because it it is hard to get and has to travel everywhere on foot. I travel mostly by car, don't eat meat, and try to save energy as much as possible.
2.I already stopped eating meat to save the environment and the animals. We also carpool with our neighbors to and from school and we have a hybrid car. I am willing to take shorter showers even though being in the shower feels awesome.
3.The fact that shocked me the most was that Americans waste enough food every year to fill 91 Empire State Buildings. This had me shocked because I didn't know people were that cruel to waste something that gives you nutrients. This is one reason as to why I try to finish whatever is on my plate.
4.Driving in my two gas-fueled cars impacts my footprint because carbon is released into the atmosphere. Something that surprised me was that leaving your plugs in the electrical outlet uses power.
5.I can take shorter showers, unplug wires when I'm not using them, and go vegan to reduce my footprint.
