Where did my name Jennifer come from?

My parents don't have a specific meaning as to why they named me Jennifer. My mother told me that ever since she was a little girl she has loved the name. I have three older brothers that would have been named Jennifer if they were girls. Since my parents talked about having children they agreed on the name Jennifer for a girl. As far as my middle name goes, I am named after a few people one being my Aunt (my mother's sister). Two of my mother's closest friends are named Diane and Dee; Dee's middle name is also Diane. That is how my name came to be Jennifer Diane. I happen to love my name because I think it describes me very well. People named Jennifer are said to be there for you through the think and thin and take friendships and relationships very seriously.

I personally think the name sounds childish Most people relate the name Jenny to the movie Forrest Gump and will pronounce it like Forrest does in the movie (Jen-naaay).
