For English and Social Studies, courses must be differentiated or, dare I say, "tracked"... no way all 10th graders are taking AP Seminar.

I think there's some value to AP Seminar, AP Research, and AP Capstone as a progression. But I wonder about the logic of offering AP Seminar in 10th grade if we're not then offering the other AP classes.

For 12th grade: Please add 1 semester of Economics. It should be 1 semester of Gov't and 1 semester of Economics

For Language: I do not believe there is Spanish 7/8. Can AP be introduced after the 6th credit is earned?

Course Progression as Student Recruitment Tool

As a parent of a soon to be HS student, these progressions are also an external tool to engage families and excite students. Must be accurate and sustainable. Also an opportunity to name and describe courses in an engaging way that demonstrates the school fabric and culture.

I encourage us to think about how we can meet requirements (PIG and Econ) in other contexts (Advisory / Human Development, or Econ in a way that's integrated with the CFM requirements of the different CTE pathways). We can look at how SWOW creates and codes courses as a guide ...

I think data and anecdotals should inform how the progressions look different. What are the explicit struggles of these groups and how can we support. Examples: Is there a bilingual math class (even online, cohort based, with teacher facilitation) and is this remedial or core? Do we have a need at GT for self contained classes and what sequence would these students follow? Unsure of differences until we unearth data, needs and experiences?
